As an apprehensive solo traveller, I picked Studley Hall mainly because it was a castle and all the food was included so I wouldn't have to worry about going out to find food. Well I have to say I was amazed at the whole experience. The staff were all friendly and welcoming and went above and beyond to make you feel at home. I have to give a special mention to Malchay, the 2 Lilly's and the lovely lady who took my bag to the room. They made me feel welcome and that nothing was a problem. The room itself was beautiful and I had a castle room with a turret which was lovely. The room was big light and airy and the bathroom was huge. The food was lovely and I have to say I was a little surprised at how good the carvery was, I am still upset that I didn't realise the chef made you an omelette to order for breakfast on the buffet, until I had finished my breakfast. Oh well there will be a next time. As someone who went on their own I booked some of the activities so I had things to do. Sam the actively instruction in the Archery and Air rifles was lovely and even though my archery is not good she was always encouraging and made it fun. I also used the spa and had a massage treatment that was lovely and just what I needed. I would highly recommend Studley Castle to anyone even if like me you are on your own. It was a good starting place for a solo trip and took away my nerves to do it again.

“A weekend in a castle”

We went to Studley Castle for our Anniversary weekend. The arrival and book in process was slick. We had a room in the Castle and it was superb, beautifully decorated. The bathroom was massive and had a shower and bath. The rest of the hotel was stunning and food lovely. We were a bit disappointed that Warners have moved to full buffet service but it was fine. The food choices were lovely and staff courteous and friendly. The entertainment was amazing and very professional. This weekend had a Fleetwood Mac legacy band who were fabulous. The in-house activities archery and air rifles very well run and the quizzes a hoot. You have to try the history walk which was very funny. I had a massage in the spa which was lovely. Overall a brilliant weekend at one of the nicest of the Warner Hotels. Highly recommend.

Have stayed at other Warner sites but our first time at Studley. First impressions were good, our room was clean and modern with a fabulous powerful shower and comfortable king size bed. Compared to other Warners the pros are the grounds are lovely and the staff are very friendly and attentive. Cons- It was OK being allocated a table for your whole stay but as we tended to go to dinner a bit later we didn't like the fact people literally watched us eating our food! There was a distinct lack of waiting staff and you have to ask for soup in the market restaurant. Brasserie 32 is OK but again a lot of food choices were not available. Cinema was also closed for the whole of our stay. Also we found as Studley is quite big compared to some other Warner sites it lacks atmosphere - on a night we were literally sat in the snug and/or coffee house on our own - felt a bit like a creepy Agatha Christie film set. We enjoyed our stay ( Ryan who hosts the quizzes is hilarious) but won't be returning to Studley as prefer Cricket St Thomas.

Just got back from a very pleasant Mon-Friday break at Studley Castle. It was the second time at this Warners, but first break was spoilt by back injury day before, so wanted to go back to really have a restful few days. We really enjoyed our week - food, entertainment & staff were excellent. My husband has Alzheimer’s so staff were very patient with him. I had booked a Studley Room. Which was very nice clean & with good bathroom….but it only had a double bed! I thought all rooms had king-sized beds, but not this room (ST101). Bed was very hard as well..it was like sleeping on a plank. Had to use our own bought duvet to be able to sleep. Very disappointed…as we are Gold customers & had been to Warner’s Holme Lacy several times before. No complaints in past all the years we’ve been using Warner’s.
