“Brilliant location & great sized apartment.”

We booked the apartment through Skiddle.com with a 10am check in. After a very long drive from Southern England during the heatwave we couldn't wait to get checked in & freshened up. We went to The Best Western Roker Hotel to collect our keys but were curtly told check in was at 3pm! There was a wedding on & we were feeling a bit scruffy so had to wait in the car. The receptionist wouldn't acknowledge our booking email & didn't even apologise for the mix up, an apology would have went a long way! At 3pm we finally collected the keys & made the short walk to the apartment, there is parking outside. The apartment we stayed in had a communal entrance, then you have your own front door. On entrance into the apartment, to the left is a very large lovely bay fronted sitting room with modern kitchen, with the most amazing views of the sea & beach. It consists of two sofas, a tv, a large modern equipped kitchen, with oven, fridge, freezer, washing machine & dishasher, the decor is natural carpets & cream walls. Off to the right of the hall is a small modern toilet & sink, & next to that a single bedroom with high ceilings, large window & wardrobe. There is then a flight of stairs with a lovely large bedroom at the bottom, patio doors leading to a tiny stepped courtyard, a large ensuite with modern power shower. Also on the bottom floor is a seperate family modern bathroom with a lovely claw foot bath. The whole apartment is large, airy, clean, and a lovely fresh feel to it. If the sitting room had sofa beds the apartment could easily accomodate 5 people. We all loved our stay here & would definitely stay here again, price allowing. Also had one of the best meals ever in The Italia restaurant which is part of the Hotel down the road. We found out the following day that our stay included breakfast also, however found out too late, would have been helpul if the receptionist in the hotel advised us during check in. To sum up, the apartment is great & would stay over & over again, however if the receptionists attitude was the same next time we would probably decide to not stay again.
