First impression of this hotel was just okay after staying for 6 weeks in total on and off and staying in other hotels in Denmark I realised the Danica was the same standard as the others. Rooms are big enough with basic furniture but adequate. Good choice of English channels on the TV which was good for me. Wifi was very good in the restaurant and the rooms. Food in the restaurant which is part of the hotel was fantastic mainly steaks and meat. The staff where friendly and helpful. The only thing which I thought I bit strange was the reception, bar, restaurant was closed Sundays. Quite pricey but then again everything in Denmark is.

As a business trip hotel this fits the bill. Room rates are reasonable although the rooms are fairly basic and not ideal for sitting and working. The best feature of this hotel is without doubt the restaurant. Steaks on the menu include local, Australian and other countries. The local lunch platter with fish, cheese and salad is delightful. Although I do not drink any alcohol, I was impressed by the wine list with an extensive choice and at prices from reasonable to very expensive (presumably for connoisseurs) displayed in various interesting wine racks in the bar and restaurant areas. Without doubt the most beautiful smoking shelter I have ever used. A nice touch. Staff are friendly, speak good English and provide insight into the town and its' history. The owners have an interest in wines, hence the selection. Check in and check out were easy including arranging a taxi to my meeting. Altogether a good experience. Some tips for travellers from the UK. If you fly into Billund airport use the 912X bus to get to the outskirts of Horsens for 80Krr, as opposed to £100 for a taxi. the travel time is not much different. From the 912X drop off there are 3 buses into Horsens. Denmark is not the cheapest place to eat or drink, £12 for a burger king meal, £15 to £25 for a sandwich or salad lunch with a drink. £40 per person for an evening meal. You will find the people welcoming, friendly and helpful. Horsens is a town I would like to spend a little more time visiting, maybe next year.

“Enjoyable stay and a Rather pleasant secret”

Ok I will say I have stayed in 4 star hotels worse than this 3 star hotel. I stayed in a family room as we were in Horsens for a family party so made a weekend of it. Ok I will say I have stayed in 4 star hotels worse than this 3 star hotel. I stayed in a family room as we were in Horsens for a family party so made a weekend of it. The room was clean and tidy and spacious enough for a family of 4. Hotel staff although seemed short , were very friendly and helpful. I would recommend if staying there is to visit the bar and have an Irish coffee.. I wont say their secret but you will certainly have more than 1 ... so breakfast is essential the next morning ... basic danish breakfast , plenty of coffee , eggs and bacon and much needed old danish bitters and snaps , for that hair of the dog moment after the irish coffees the night before . My only grip is not having tea or coffee facilities in rooms but a vending machine downstairs in the lobby . Hotel is right next to town center so plenty to do and visit Overall it was reasonably priced and would I stay there again. Of course I would , the whole family had a great stay

“Small town hotel”

This small town hotel is run by 1 person who is friendly and helpfull. Rooms are outdated but nice. Beds are good, wifi works and breakfast is well organized. Bathrooms are really up for a make over. Haven't seen those since the seventeens.

“Decent Hotel in Horsens”

Stayed here for a month, rooms r clean and cosy, staff is nice , Ok ok breakfast not special , near down town so all things near by, overall a decent place to stay. Easy reachable from railway station, WiFi is gold. I enjoyed my stay there.
