“Average hotel in good location”

We stayed here on the first night of joining our tour. Average rooms, bit tired and a little dated but clean enough with comfortable bed. Good for a few nights. We stayed here on the first night of joining our tour. Average rooms, bit tired and a little dated but clean enough with comfortable bed. Good for a few nights. We didn't have breakfast or dinner so couldn't comment on that. Great restaurant across the road. Good location too, taxis from train station and forbidden city area didn't cost us more than £3 so we didn't bother with public transport. Plenty of shops around it too, nice little bakery directly across the road also. Felt safe walking around in the area too.

If you're after a budget room in Beijing, this fits the bill. It's pretty clean, there are shops and restaurants nearby for food, the aircon works well and there's even a water dispenser in the room, very useful. You need a taxi or bus to get around (having tried both, the former is a lot simpler than the latter if you can afford it) but it's not too far to Tiananmen square etc. On a budget, this hotel is a perfectly decent choice.

“It's Okay”

So I stayed here for my first 4 nights in China. I got a taxi from the airport and the taxi driver knew where it was. So I stayed here for my first 4 nights in China. I got a taxi from the airport and the taxi driver knew where it was. The journey took about 45 mins to an hour and the cost was reasonable for a metered taxi. Be careful as there are lots of people at the airport offering taxis for extortianate prices. Ignore them and get a metered one. The hotel itself was quite clean and check in was quick enough. No one really spoke English that well but I managed to get to the right room without too much of a problem. You have to use your card in the lift and then press your floor number. That was a good security measure so I liked that. The room had two single beds, a small wet room and was adequate space for 2 people. The wasn't really anywhere to hang your clothes but that was okay. The best feature in the room was a water dispenser. I filled up my water bottle from this everyday and was able to brush my teeth etc with clean water. This was a great feature. The room had air conditioning too, unfortunately when I first turned it on, some stuff fell out of it but it worked fine after that. The wifi, didn't work which was unfortunate. No one at reception really spoke English and I was given the wrong direction to a place I needed to get to. They only have a chinese map so buy one before if you will need one. The hotel is about 30 mins walk from the metro station. Its not a great location. There are buses that run outside but unless you understand chinese, theres no point in getting one. I got lost and got told to get off one of the buses also! The taxi cost 13 yuan from the station to the hotel, so I jut got a taxi everyday to the station and continued my journey from there. If there are more than one person, a taxi is cheap enough to get to forbidden city etc. As mentioned in the previous review, there is a nice bakery nearby. I used the restaurant attached to the hotel once. I didn't return after that! All in all, not a terrible stay. If they had more staff that spoke English, that would help. However I wouldn't stay here again based on that and location.

First hotel in China,no English at all but that's ok it adds to the experience!The laundry in here was very expensive.The rooms were very good.If you would like food turn right out of the hotel and right again, keep going straight for about 10 minutes and there is a lovely bakery there and a few other establishments.There are decent cheap food options across the road and a shop to get drinks/confectionary/fruit.Its a big enough hotel but lacking a comforting smile.
