“Road trip around Scotland ”

First nights stay in Scotland at this hotel. Huge family room. Comfy beds very clean and fab seating area with sea views in distance. All staff helpful and accommodating. Definitely recommend. Free parking at front. Very short walk to sea and village life.

This nice hotel is situated in a great position just 150 yards from the beach. There is a wonderful view of Arran from the shore. Lovely walk along the front, and a small cafe for refreshments. The hotel itself is slightly dated, it is a bit tired in places but essentially ticked most boxes for our needs. We were 3 friends sharing a triple room. It was comfortable and cosy. Lovely dark curtains, nice beds and comfortable. We slept very well. The bathroom was clean and tidy and the shower was adequate. Maybe a little small but the water was lovely and hot. Yes it took a bit to get the temperature just right but it was hot. The towels were lovely and fluffy. The corridor outside the room a bit noisy and squeaky, but hey its an old hotel. The breakfast was delicious. Toast was ok and bread could have been better quality but it was adequate. The fried breakfast was delicious and they catered our fussy needs. The coffee and tea was unlimited and a variety of cereals was available, including, pain au chocolat and a selection of fruit juices. If you have something to complain about here you should review your standards. As a 3 star hotel this ticked all the boxes. Staff were lovely and very accommodating. The bar area was ample and includes a pool table. Internet access is provided in all areas. The train station is a 2 minute walk away, giving access to surrounding villages and beaches within a short travel time. This was an ideal hotel for what we wanted. Cosy, warm, comfortable, huge window for fresh air if thats what we wanted, and a nice telly to relax watching before bed. Great wee break away.

Clean and tidy with neutral decor, large en-suite with modern electric shower. Due to time pressures couldn't stay for breakfast, so can't comment on that. Communal areas were a little dated but our room was not.
