Not all hotels in this chain is open to foreigners but this one is. Service and room are good, but it is at least 15min to the railway station or metro station. Located in an area which was once a fishing village, you can explore the area and also see a long wall with bronze panels telling how the Party improved life there. There are also some good eateries next to the hotel.

the hotel is located on a quiet residential street. there is a convenience store, some eateries and a bakery a few steps from the lobby. however, the railway station is at least 15min walk from the hotel, quite far especially if you have a big luggage. room is clean with a good wifi. service is good. they only have 1 elevator and the rooms are located up to 10+ floors, so waiting time is quite long.

This is a very basic hotel. Two nights cost me about a quarter of what I spent for one night at the Pullman Guangzhou Baiyun Airport Hotel, and I would be hard pressed to say which was better value. The GZ airport hotel is a luxury hotel, and I received lots of extras, and it included breakfast. I use it whenever I am in transit through GZ. This Home Inn is basic. The bed was OK. The room was small, but for some odd reason, it has a big wardrobe leading into the old and a bit shabby bathroom. The Home Inn in YuMin Village near the Shenzhen train station was chosen specifically for cost, and it served its purpose. It makes no pretense to be a luxury hotel. It is within easy walking distance to the SZ train station and the Luohu Port border crossing into Hong Kong. Frankly, in hindsight, it probably makes as much sense to stay at a hotel near the GZ East train station and take the train right into Kowloon. The time would be the same, because of the delays going through the border crossing on foot. So all in all, would I stay here again? No. Likely not. There was nothing specifically wrong with the hotel, but the rooms are old, and the bathroom especially is old and the shower weak.
