Just spent the most amazing 10 days here and could not fault a single thing. From the minute we arrived we were greeted with such warm and friendly welcomes from everyone in the hotel. The hotel itself is stunning, tucked away right on the beach. Could take 5 steps from my bed and I was on the sand. The rooms are beautiful, very good air conditioning, comfy beds and amazing outdoor showers as well as indoor ones. Thank you to the housekeeping team who kept our rooms immaculate every day. The food and service was exceptional and we looked forward to it everyday . Amazing choice at breakfast every morning including a varied buffet and a la carte options. Thank you to Edil, Denis and Salim who remembered my coffee preferences and made me delicious iced coffees every morning. We looked forward to dinner every night, where you could choose from the a la carte menu, or the set menu which changed daily. We were served warm bread and an amuse bouche every evening before our meal. What really made the experience was the staff. Every single member of staff was so kind and professional, nothing was too much trouble. The staff in the restaurant were the friendliest and most attentive I have ever come across. Special mention to Laval who served us dinner most of the evenings. Absolutely amazing service and attention to detail. So smiley and took the time to have a conversation with us everyday, while being attentive to all tables. Big thank you to Trevor and Patrick too! The lovely guys who brought us on multiple trips on the boat including a beautiful sunset boat trip and a few trips across the water to Grand Baie dropping us right on the beach! Thank you also to Sunil, Vyas, Hugo, Rishi and very friendly security man Alan, who helped us organise multiple taxis quickly. I was lucky to go to the beautiful spa one day, where I had the best massage I’ve ever had. I’m sorry I don’t remember all names however every member of staff deserves a huge thank you. Lastly, a big thank you to General Manager Lindley and Rooms Manager Umesh, who made sure our experience was special, who took the time to greet us personally everyday and ask us how our stay was. I have never experienced such amazing hospitality and I hope to return to this beautiful hotel someday. I would recommend this hotel to anyone without a doubt.

“Absolutely the perfect place to unwind and indulge”

This unassuming hotel could easily be missed or dismissed when driving down the narrow road towards it. Don’t miss it! 20 Degrés Sud is a true oasis of calm with superb food and wonderful staff. We spent 3 nights here in room No 1, as you can guess, this was a very nice room – large bed, with fine bedding, even larger bathroom with excellent separate rain shower and free standing bath. We rarely use the sitting area in rooms as we like to be out and about but here, just sitting with a glass of wine looking out over the bay, watching the boats come and go was the perfect antidote to life’s stresses. The room opened out onto a veranda with loungers and table and chairs, and a plunge pool that was on the cool side (!). With a few steps leading down to the beach and yet more loungers, this really was a little slice of heaven. Many thanks to Rani kept our room topped up and in perfect condition. The restaurant is well positioned to take advantage of the view across the bay to Grand Baie and to watch the sun rising during breakfast (get there before 7am). Breakfast is a mix of buffet and a-la-carte – cereals, fruit juices, Mauritian selection, meats, cheese, yoghurts etc. and bacon, eggs etc. made to order from a simple menu. TIP – try the smoked marlin; wonderful. The bread was delicious; I could have just lived on it (I still have cravings) TIP – take a pastry from the middle of the plates – even though they are covered, the birds are very clever and have worked out how to get a free breakfast! Dinner was superb. Every dish was a feast for the eyes and the tastebuds. We were half board, this gave us breakfast (which could be swapped for lunch) and a contribution towards dinner. At first we thought this odd but, once we got into it, it worked quite well. At the time of writing this was Rs2,250 (~£40) per person and was applied to both food and drink – so you could, for example, have a main, desert and a glass of wine and there could be no additional cost. There was a ‘set’ menu that used the contribution, you could also swap out elements if you wanted to (i.e. change the entrée and have the main and desert). If this sounds complicated, trust me, it wasn’t; it effectively gave you complete access to the a-la-carte menu. The service was both highly professional yet relaxed, making each meal really special and memorable. Special mention to Hugo – a true star. HOWEVER. Typically, on our last evening the food and service was not to the same standard and it certainly felt like the A Team had taken the night off. One of our main courses was inedible but was swapped out for something else, and we were not alone in this. Testament to the overall quality of the food and service – our abiding memory will be that of delightful staff and meals. If you get time, set a reminder for the (complimentary) afternoon tea at 4pm, it took immense willpower to limit how many times I went back to the homemade cake and huge selection of biscuits – delicious! There was never a rush for loungers, in fact, we rarely saw more than half a dozen occupied during the day. In fact, the entire resort never felt crowded or rushed. TIP - take the complimentary boat trip across the bay to Grand Baie on ‘La Pirogue’, it goes three times a day (weather permitting, naturally), you will probably find a couple of hours will suffice. TIP – get out for a walk in the local area, find the local shops, you will also see some wonderful original houses and everyone we met was warm and friendly. If you turn right and just keep on walking, you will find paths leading down to deserted, pristine beaches – breath in, hold, breath out… and smile. We spent three nights here at the start of our tour of the island, what a fortunate decision; we were introduced to the delightful Mauritians, the tempting food and fascinating country. We have lasting memories that we intend to refresh soon. I’m going to stop now, I’ve run out of superlatives.

This hotel is perfect! Has a very chilled and peaceful vibe. The rooms were lovely, recently renovated. Had everything we need, also had turn down service which was a nice touch. The bed and bedding was amazing, best we've slept in a while! The food was exceptional, by far the best we'd had on our 2 week holiday, would go back just for the food itself! Free kayak and sup on the beach and water taxi twice a day to grand Baie which was great. There wasn't much to do near by without going to grand Baie however but we may have missed some things! The staff were absolutely lovely! They couldn't do more for you, happy, smiley and all very friendly!

A small boutique hotel, it might be unnoticeable from the outside, the inside containing 36 rooms with its delightful peacefulness & tranquility in lush tropical gardens. You are made so welcome from all the staff, some have become good friends. We stayed in room 34 for 12 nights, arriving on Monday 9th September. The staff are always so friendly yet professional. Special mention to Oumesh (room Divisional manager), who always greeted us, we spoke on numerous occasions. The concierge team- Micheal, friendly yet professional, gave us great knowledge on the local area & when asked suggested local speciality restaurants. Isaaq, again so friendly & helpful, he would always acknowledge us on seeing us. Also thank you to Jessica & Francesca for all their help. Food & beverage - Lamal, competent, efficient & experienced, knowing our food preferences & allergies, very professional at his job. The restaurant- food is excellent, plates are served with "Flair", tasting as good as they look. Special mention to the Patisserie chef, your deserts & afternoon tea gateaux's were the high-light of the kitchen in my opinion. (after tea served daily 4.00 - 5.00pm). Denis, always with a smile & cheerful attitude, made us laugh so much, whilst doing his daily tasks with skill & expertise. Make sure you book in advance the evening Gourmet cruise on Lady Lisbeth Yacht, with exceptional 5-6 course dishes, expertly served at your table by Denis our waiter. If you have a special occasion, Birthday, Anniversary or just a great evening, please note there is only availability for up to 8 persons per cruise, booking is a must. Also special thanks to Lindley Thomen, who took special interest in making our holiday so special, your kindness & great customer service. Nearly forgot Trevor your Water-taxi driver, so thoughtful, helpful & kind, always made our many trips to & forth to Grand Baie so memorable.
