“Very pleasant stay”

We stayed for 4 days and had a very pleasant stay and will probably stay again. This small hotel is in a great location, close to many good restaurants and shops within in a short walking distance, very friendly and helpful staff, great price.

My stay at Emaus was five stars, so much so that throughout my trip to Colombia I returned three times in all and am planning to visit again shortly. The staff are wonderful, personable and professional around the clock. Angela, Carlos, David Gina, Jimmy, Luisa, Paola, Tatiana - really made my stay in this magical country all the more exciting. Each of them were happy to help with anything I needed throughout my stay that combined business with pleasure. They shared local knowledge, gave me a reading list and generally treated me like royalty. The hotel has all the charms of a family pension - by mixing the old with the new it offers an attention to detail which has been lost in big and small cities across the world. I loved my room, the artwork, the terrace and the amazing breakfast which served me well as I worked from the hotel. The location is excellent. There are lovely restaurants jotted all over, coffee shops and independent book shops, not to mention the great walks to go on up the fabulous quebradas. A big thanks to Sebastián and his team. “Not really pleasant”

My second time in this hotel. It is very clean, but really outdated. Rooms are extremely cold and humid. Staff at the reception is very friendly, but the people at breakfast is quite distant. I was in a room right behind the reception and it was really noisy. Breakfast, by the way, is very strange.… more

My second time in this hotel. It is very clean, but really outdated. Rooms are extremely cold and humid. Staff at the reception is very friendly, but the people at breakfast is quite distant. I was in a room right behind the reception and it was really noisy. Breakfast, by the way, is very strange. It consists in a series of excluding options (coffee or tea, fruit juice or dish of fruits...). The area is very good, plenty of restaurants.

My rating for this hotel is not as high as it could have been because we had rooms on the ground floor next to the reception, and the walls are very thin and you could hear noises throughout the night. My rating for this hotel is not as high as it could have been because we had rooms on the ground floor next to the reception, and the walls are very thin and you could hear noises throughout the night. The room was large and clean, the bed comfortable but I did not like the bathroom. You had to take a very large step to get into the bath/shower and I cannot imagine my elderly mother finding this safe. The shower head was coarse and the water took a long time to heat up. The breakfast was made to order and was very pleasant, although you had to eat on your lap on a sofa. The staff were very friendly but had poor to no English, a very common situation throughout Colombia, no doubt a reflection of the fact that tourism in the country has only recently rebounded after the political turmoil.
