I would definitely return for the sheer relaxation and tranquility this place offers. “Good place to stay”

First time staying in the Governor's Green in Williamsburg. The 3 bedroom is vary spacious and comfortable for the family. Close to everything in the area. Plus just minutes to 64 when heading either east of west. Though Wyndham still tries to push more timeshare.

- This was the first time staying at Governors Green in I would say a decade. We normally choose Patriots place as you get more for your points as far as space. But we found the same unit for the same points for this trip so we jumped on it. I will begin with the pros of the property and than the cons. PROS: - check in went very smoothly we arrived Tuesday morning at around 9:30 and our unit was available for no issue. The young woman checking us in was professional and friendly. - we stayed on the second floor and had a beautiful balcony view of a huge pond with a fountain that was filled with ducks and frogs. - our building was adjacent to the main pool and check in / recreation building. - the front security greeted us every time we came and went with a huge smile and a wave that truly made the difference. - the grounds are sprawling with tons of open land and trees. Multiple huge ponds , a lot of wildlife. - the resort is centrally located in I would say the best location out of all 3 wyndhams in Williamsburg. It’s a minutes drive from everywhere. - from the main road the resort is very secluded and blocked by mature trees. - The property has a few play grounds , 2 outdoor swimming pools , 1 indoor pool. Tennis, basketball, corn hole, horse shoes, mini golf, billiards room, computer room, gym, walking trails with seating areas , gas grills with picnic areas. - The ground were pretty well kept and we saw grounds workers out everyday working on things. - The room was spacious we had a 1 bedroom deluxe large kitchen , living room and dining area. Nice size balcony . - Each building has elevators and plenty of different luggage carts to be used. - The soaps and shampoos the resort provides smell AMAZING - The property itself is very quiet and at night we heard all crickets , cicadas and frogs from the ponds . CONS: - we did not receive the updated key wrist bands but instead the old fashioned key cards. They seem to punish you by holding the bands with the “concierge” and that is the only desk that has them so they can try and force you into a meeting. But when we checked in the “concierge” desk was not available. - our living room sofa had dried gum stuck into it - the microwave time did not work correctly. - We found women’s panties left in our washer. - The vents in the living room were coated in dust. - When we checked in our bathroom entrance had broken tiles and grout with a container of grout and supplies. Someone did not communicate this and told the front desk the room was ready for check in. - Our shampoo and body wash containers were left unattached to the walls and when we asked for them to be put up two times it was not done. - The shower itself its great but has no shelving to put anything except for one soap bar holder. - Under the kitchen counter we had an empty pull out device that I believe should have held a recycling bin? - Either above us or below us at 12 midnight the other units jetted tub must have been running for about 45 minutes and is so loud in your unit it sounded like it was in our bed with us. - No door to separate the tub area and bedroom. There is a window above the tub that lets light in with no way of blocking it out of the bedroom. - The exterior of the buildings and balcony could definitely use a power wash and clean up. - The indoor pools roof and other object are completely rusted and in need of attention. - Our toilet would not flush without a fight each time - Our sink stopper would not stay up and filled the sink with water while using it. - the areas next to the door handles on the doors were filthy.
