“Relaxing weekends”

We enjoyed our stay from start to finish. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Food was good in the wild brownie we didn’t try the other restaurant, breakfast had a good selection. The SPA treatment room was very relaxing and the treatment was amazing. The only reason our sleep quality was average was the fact the room was too warm for us even with the heating turned down and due to being a light sleeper I couldn’t sleep with the window open but that is personal preference. There was a fan in the wardrobe if needed. The bed was comfortable.

“Lovely stay very relaxing”

Peaceful and tranquil. We enjoyed the hotel and walks very much. Staff were fab ! And rooms nice and clean

“Short Visit.”

We had a short stay of two nights through a special Caledonian Sleeper offer. Overall it was very good with only a couple of reservations - our room was excellent but temperature could have been a bit higher. Also, breakfast buffet was lukewarm. Staff were excellent.

Situated just outside the village of Kinloch Rannoch this hotel offers peace and serenity with excellent views of Loch Rannoch itself. From its location you are ideally situated for visits to the local area ,including Pitlochry,House of Bruar retail outlet and Falls of Bruar at Struan and the isolated Rannoch Moor ,all within around a thirty minute drive,albeit on some narrow single track roads !! The hotel itself has excellent views overlooking the Loch as well as a marina for some water sports and bike hire if you wish to have a ride around the area - around 30 mile circular route around the loch or 18 miles to Rannoch moor and railway station. We have stayed here twice now in the past few months,the last one being on the three day Hogmanay package which was well worth the money. The hotel offers a number of dining experiences which we found to our liking on both visits - from the Estate Room with formal dining to the more laid back Wild Brownie with bar meals and the larder room for breakfasts. All meals were well cooked and presented in a relaxed environment with friendly staff serving. A special mention to the serving staff at breakfasts who were very friendly and efficient . We also had the benefit of the gala dinner on New Year’s Eve which was very well presented and included a ceilidh etc to usher in the new year. There is also the drawing room which is an ideal place to relax at the end of the day and perhaps sample some of the single malt whisky on their extensive drinks menu. As regards the rooms ,whereas the standard ,classic and heritage rooms are more than adequate we found the contemporary rooms more to our liking (room 204 ) with the additional space of the living area . Although they do come at a small additional supplement they are more than worth the money for the extra space and direct views of the loch. They are also clean,tidy and very comfortable. The hotel does offer use of the pool,steam room and sauna which is included in the cost and an ideal place to rest and relax if you wish. There is also the spa with treatments at additional costs. The only slight downside at the pool is the changing rooms which can best be described as functional and are in need of a refurbishment. If we were to be pedantic there were a couple of minor service issues which need addressing and if rectified would make this hotel excellent as opposed to very good. Although small such matters as the bar staff not being able to prepare a cocktail,a food order going missing and having to be reordered and no milk left in the room for the tea /coffee are fairly trivial in the scheme of things but when combined the cumulative effect does have an effect and requires attention. However all in all an excellent hotel to stay at if you are looking for rest and relaxation , or a bit of exercise and adventure depending on your preference and certainly to be recommended.
