“Nice Hotel for a weekend break.”

Despite it being the windiest and wettest weekend of the season so far, my wife and I went to the Hogs Back for a social function - and it was well worth the trip (4 1/2 sodden hours on the M25). The Hotel is set right on the roadside and comes up on the unsuspecting driver quite quickly in the dark! The car park is convoluted and a bit of a nightmare to navigate in the dark...... Once inside the Hotel the facilities were good, the - sorry for this, I should have remembered her name - eastern european lady on Reception was extremely helpful and polite, the room - more than adequate for our needs, with a nice comfy bed, good bathroom facility and a nice waterfall shower. Fancy Coffee Machine in the room was a nighmare to work out, but that's my issue not the hotels... Breakfast was buffet style and contained all you could need, juices, fruit, pastries cereal and a 'Full English' and toast... Bacon could have done with a little longer on the grill and the toaster needs two passes to toast correctly... A couple of hours in the spa pool and sauna was really nice - they had a problem with the Jacuzzi and also the steam room...but the Sauna was good and the pool pleasantly warm...slightly spoiled by the arrival of a multitude of small children - but we had been there for a couple of hourse so left them to it... We had dinner on the Saturday night - and the evening meal was a small choice menu but well cooked and well presented - we had a - my fault again, sorry - little elfin looking waitress who could not have been more pleasant and helpful... Thank You, Only one fault - They had no port to finish off the evening meal.

“Great value stay.”

Great staff. An overnight stay to see friends in the area. Friendly check in, room looked newly refurbished, but no fridge and the TV didn’t tilt towards the sofa so moved the sofa! Great staff. An overnight stay to see friends in the area. Friendly check in, room looked newly refurbished, but no fridge and the TV didn’t tilt towards the sofa so moved the sofa! Room service was available as well as bar meals in the lounge area. Bed was comfortable, water very hot. Forgot my swimming stuff but facilities looked really nice and lots of spa treatments to choose from. Breakfast was a bit disappointing but we arrived 5 minutes before it closed so no bacon and some things were not that warm, should have gone earlier! Overall we enjoyed this hotel and would stay again. It was good value for money and you could walk to Asda Local at the nearby garage and also the Hogs Back Brewery in 10 minutes. All the staff were wonderful.
