“Good Stay”

The hotels close proximity to the railway station and the metro station is a big advantage.Also they serve good delicious complimentary breakfast.Reception staff, ambience of the hotel and the wifi are good. Overall stay was good.

The location is superb almost across Dr. MGR Chennai Central Railway Station with easy access to metro stations and bus stops. The staff are quite friendly. The room had clean sheets and a decent bathroom. However, that is about it all. The property is quite ill maintained. The walls in the rooms were feeling wet probably due to water seepage in to the concrete. It looks (but may not necessarily be) dusty almost everywhere and maintains a 'moth eaten look everywhere from the Reception onward. The buffet breakfast was sort of sketchy but passable. If the management makes a serious effort with regard to the upkeep of the building, it should be an attractive option for any one visiting Chennai while arriving by by train.

We checked in late beyond normal dining hours. The check in was smooth and the room was all right. The bathroom was small, without any hooks, racks or shelf to place clothes. It was good that the hotel could provide room service at a late hour. The food was barely above acceptable quality but the abnormal custom was that we had to pay in cash when the food was delivered it to our room. Each time we had to keep cash ready, like when we ordered a couple more rotis. No provision to sign and pay at the time of check out; or to even pay after the dinner was over. We found this practice very, very peculiar and not guest friendly at all. In the morning, we called the front desk to send the bell boy to take our luggage from the room. After waiting for a quarter of an hour, we did it ourselves. The only helpful soul was the security guard who promised to watch our car during the night, and also washed it in the morning. The hotel has all the basic brick and mortar infrastructure but definitely needs to pull up its service levels. A service oriented culture will go a long way in making guests feel comfortable and appreciated.
