“One of the better budget hotels in China”

On a tour of China, staying in 3-star hotel, this was one of the better ones. The rooms were in better condition, the bathrooms were cleaner, and the staff more helpful. The location is quite central in Hangzhou, within easy walking distance to the West Lake, bakeries and bar/restaurant areas. However, it can be a bit confusing, as it is located just off the main road, and the easiest way to cross the street/river is through one of those underground passageways (with poor signage, or lack of English signage anyway), and we routinely took the wrong exit. Hangzhou is one of the more laid-back and pleasant cities in China, so walking around at night was fine. This is a bit closer to a Western standard hotel, although hard beds still prevail.

“one night in hangzhou & it poured down”

because of the rain we only ventured out for food & fresh air. the magnificent westin lake nearby was un doable . great shopping centres nearby for food & shopping. great buffet breakfast. good value. rooms very clean, staff freindly & bar area very welcoming
