Majestic Melaka is a beautiful five-star hotel with a lovely vintage style. The lobby feels like walking into a grand mansion, which is warm and welcoming. The hotel has a private, secure car park, which is very convenient. We stayed in a bright corner room with plenty of sunlight, and the vintage bathtub with strong water pressure was very relaxing. Check-in was easy, and the staff were friendly and polite. The welcome drinks and snacks were a nice touch. The location is also great—only a 15-minute walk to Jonker Street. Breakfast is served in a charming, vintage-style room above the lobby. They served a la carte, not a buffet, with limited choices. As a vegetarian, I found there were no good options, so the chef just made us a simple omelette. For the high room rates, the management should offer more menu options for guests with different dietary needs, rather than just an omelette. The staff worked hard to prepare breakfast for us, and I am grateful for their kindness. However, I think the management should consider the needs of vegetarian guests more carefully. Overall, I loved the environment, staff, and room—everything was excellent—but the dining experience could be improved.

We took 2 connecting rooms, one double and one twin. It is not usual to find bolsters in a hotel room. What is odd is that the twin room has 2 bolsters while the double room only has one. We took 2 connecting rooms, one double and one twin. It is not usual to find bolsters in a hotel room. What is odd is that the twin room has 2 bolsters while the double room only has one. The master switch is at bed side rather than at the entrance. It is a switch, not one that requires the card key to be slotted in. The master switch only works with the lights. That means AC and TV have to be switched on and off separately. This seems quite old fashioned for a 5 star hotel. For breakfast, main items are ordered from a menu with no restriction. The servings are on the small side which is great for those who want to try more than one item. Coffee, latte, cappuccino, tea, and hot chocolate are also ordered ala carte. Juices and cereals are served buffet style. I observed that instead of replenishing drinking glasses, the staff opted to individually serve juices when drinking glasses run out. While the intention may be good, it leads to delays.
