Well we must have stayed here more than 6 times now over the years. It is in the best location, near enough to walk to the action, restaurants, harbour but far enough to be away from the noise and dirt. The best snorkelling is in this area and a little to the north. Always see turtles and lots of fish. Bring reef shoes though for the dead coral that is lurking under the water in some spots. The bungalows are nice, really nice feel to them. The bathroom not so nice, the shower really lets the room down. Its old and smells. I can live with that though! Breakfast is good, cooked selection to order from menu, with asian and western choices, juice, tea and coffee plus fruit. The staff here are really nice, so friendly and welcoming. It hits the right spot in value for money. You will likely be woken at 5am daily by the nearby mosque. I don't remember this happening in previous visits but maybe they have beefed up their speakers! I doubt there is anywhere on the island that won't be disturbed now. Bring ear plugs.

“Sufficient but underwhelming.”

This place was sufficient for a 3 night stay but left us rather underwhelmed. As a large family group, we had 3 rooms. The bedding was clean and rooms tidy but in real need of updating. This place was sufficient for a 3 night stay but left us rather underwhelmed. As a large family group, we had 3 rooms. The bedding was clean and rooms tidy but in real need of updating. My brother noted in his room, the roof was not sealed properly and had large gaps letting in hot air and fumes. I noticed they were renovating other rooms and wondered if we were in unrenovated ones. (We had actually changed a booking from another property, having been informed there were renovations going on. The renovations here did not really impact us, as we were out and about all day). The staff were pleasant and helpful with any requests, basic a-la-carte breakfast, the sunbeds across the road in front were great and the resort overall was positioned just far enough away from the central party atmosphere so that it had a peaceful ambience. (Except for the sound of early morning roosters). We had to keep reminding ourselves that the cost was reasonable but noted other properties nearby with lovely pools that we would rather stay in if we returned.
