“Paradise on Earth”

“Great accommodation for birding in Extremadura”
Had a great week at Las Canteras. Great birding in the garden - bill-clacking storks, bee-eaters, hoopoes, a pair of little owl and even a stone curlew. “A great place for birdwatchers”
Countryside location, great for birds and other wildlife. A simple and homely base, with good home cooking using local ingredients. Francisco the proprietor was keen to show off little owls, a tree frog in the conservatory plants and share his knowledge of the local area. Highly recommended.

“Friendly simple accommodation”
This casa rural is run by a very friendly couple and our Naturetrek group took up most of the rooms. It appears to be ideally located for avid birdwatchers in a very peaceful part of Extramadura. “Good place stay for birding”
Stayed a week at Casa Rural with a group of birding friends and enjoyed it. The place is very basic, but is clean. Its position in the country side make it good place to travel from. The town of Trujillio is well worth a visit .
