The hotel is in a great location, with Bloomsbury, Holbourn and Covent Gardan very walkable and the double room was fairly reasonably priced for start of August. These were the two main reasons I chose it, plus I had stayed a few times in former years and always had an ok experience. The room is compact as expected, but was very adequate for my two day stay when I was mainly out sight-seeing by day. The first nights stay was just coming out of an unusually hot weather spell, so I was very grateful for the supplied fan and that I could open the room window which faced onto the back. Tea, coffee etc. are generously supplied which as a great tea and coffee drinker is always a plus with me, and the TV worked ok. I use a cpap machine to sleep at night, so I had to work around coping with just one double socket in the room for that, the kettle and my phone charger, but I managed ok. The small en-suite bathroom was adequate, the shower was good and controllable, the toilet flushed well, the sink drained and held water ok for shaving and towels were supplied. In some ways it was even better than a higher star hotel that I had stayed in the previous couple of nights with a dodgy sink and shower! The cooked breakfast was another motivating factor to chose the Mabledon Court. It was adequate, filling, customizable and perfect to keep me going for the first part of the day. The staff were very friendly and obliging. My luggage was looked after on the check out day. Very friendly check in and check out and I soon got used to the old style key process. I cannot understand some of the reviews here nit-picking the rooms decor etc when it is just a central small place to lay ones head while exploring all that London has to offer. It is a perfectly adequate small hotel in its price and star range. I will definitely stay again when I am next in London. I know it and I trust it and the friendly staff.
