Having worked in the hotel trade as a manager for 20 years i always give honest feedback based on my experience. Having read some previous reviews i was a little concerned i had made the right choice. i was visiting Glasgow with a friend from France who is used to staying in very good quality accommodation. On arrival we were struck by the lovely garden and exterior appearance of the Guest House. We were greeted by Thomas and found him to be very polite and informative after explaining our plans during our stay. Thomas informed us of the times for breakfast and provided the breakfast menu for us to complete for the following morning. he then escorted us to room 6 a twin room with twin beds and en suite shower. The first impression on entering the room was very good, a large room very well appointed and decorated. On closer inspection I found the cleanliness of the room to be of a very high standard. After checking in and resting for an hour we decided to head off into the city for a meal, Thomas offered to book a taxi for us and provided information on possible places to eat. After a very comfortable nights sleep we made our way down to breakfast which was in a very nice dinning room and well laid out. Cereal, tea, coffee and juice was available self service and Thomas served the cooked breakfast to the table. The breakfast was perfectly cooked and well presented and the portion was perfect to set us up for the day. The following morning i had made an error on the breakfast sheet ordering only a poached egg instead of full breakfast I alerted Thomas to my error and as we had decided to eat at the latest possible time Thomas advised us that the ovens had been switched off but he would go to the kitchen and see what he could do. He returned moments later with almost a full cooked breakfast, i have a feeling it may have been his own breakfast. I understand that any reviews on this site are subjective and open to interpretation but I am very surprised to read the negative comments of other guests. I think it is important to point out that a Guest House is not a Hotel with 24 hours reception and is a business based in a family home and proprietors have to have policies in place to allow them a private life and to maintain the property. In summary based on my experience I doubt i would find a better guest house in Glasgow and have no hesitation recommending it to travellers looking for an immaculate, comfortable value for money establishment.

“Excellent Experience”

I was travelling with my grandmother, and we stayed here for one night. Lovely neighbourhood, very quite. The space was very comfortable and clean. The breakfast was lovely, it was good value. When we were there, there was a beautiful rose garden there.

“Pleasantly surprised”

I was visiting town for a sporting event and booked into this B&B for one night. After arriving early (I misjudged how close it was to town) I was welcomed by the owner and made to feel at home. I was visiting town for a sporting event and booked into this B&B for one night. After arriving early (I misjudged how close it was to town) I was welcomed by the owner and made to feel at home. The room was lovely and spotlessly clean. I was chuffed as some of the online reviews were a bit misleading. There were two shared bathrooms, both of which were clean and I didn't encounter any of the other guests throughout my stay (I'm fine with this arrangement, however, my wife wouldn't be keen). Breakfast was good but could be improved (though for the price of my room, I couldn't complain, really). Thomas was spot on - slightly baffled by some of the negative comments I'd read (maybe it was the guest, rather than the host?). I'd definitely stay here again on my next trip to Glasgow.
