“Great location and amazing staff!”

I stayed with a friend whilst walking the Via Francigena in late October. Although the hotel was an extra mile from the route it was worth the walk. We enjoyed a swim in the lake and a drink on the terrace followed by a take away pizza as the restaurant was closed as it was near the end of the season. It was Francesca who made our stay perfect. She was in charge of the hotel and did everything she could to make us welcome, arranging the pizza delivery and even lending the caretaker her car so he could drive us into Bolsena the next morning so we didn't have to walk the busy Via Cassia. Thank you Francesca, you were brilliant! We will return to the Hotel Lido one day.

“Lovely hotel with private beach!”

It's very important to understand that this is TWO buildings, the "Beach" hotel which is actually on the lake beach, and the "Palace" hotel which is across the street. We stayed in the Palace and it was fantastic. All new and modern, tastefully decorated, really comfortable and felt luxurious. The balcony was spacious and nice and had a view of both the old city of Bolsena and the lake. It really wasn't a big deal to walk across the street, but while it's not super busy, it is a regional highway so the speed limit is high and you have to be careful. Some might not be comfortable with that. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and had fresh fruit and freshly baked cakes and pastries, as well as a nice selection of cereal, meats, cheese, etc. We also ate dinner our first night and it was excellent as well. Really lovely to sit on the patio with a view of the lake. The staff were all very friendly, helpful, and accomodating. One day we waited until well after the lunch hour to decide we wanted to stay at the private beach and eat something after all, but they made us a plate of prosciutto and melon with bread AND brought it all with cocktails we also asked for out to us in the garden area. We were so impressed! Highly recommend this hotel if you want to enjoy some summer time at Lake Bolsena.

“Right at the lakeside.”

If you want to stay right at the beach of the Lake Bolsena, this hotel is it! It would also be absolutely perfect for weddings or other celebrations. The rooms are not very big, but they are nice and a number of rooms have a huge private balcony. The breakfast-buffet is absolutely delicious!

This hotel is lovely in general. But needs improvement. Ita biggest advantage is that it has a private beach. A few steps from your room and you're by the lake. The hotel is very clean, but quite old fashioned. The shower room is big, but in itself is very small and not comfortable for a shower after a lake dip. Also for short people the choosing if shower head is impossible. The hotel has an AC in the rooms and halls only. The reception, lobby and dining room doesn't have any AC. In 38c it's tough. In our room the AC was extremely loud. To a point it woke us up at night. In the mornings the hotel turns it off on purpose. Both in the halls and the rooms. Which was making it a bit harsh to take our time in the morning before leaving for our day. The hotel serves a continental breakfast with not much variety. Though it was nice to see some gluten free products. Does it worth the 60€. Sadly no. It's important to mention I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone with a disability. There is no access. Only stairs, no lift and no ramps for wheel chairs or people with mobility problem. The location of the hotel is why the stay there is quite nice. 6 minutes drive from town, private beach, parking, very clean rooms and a, sweet kind staff. I just hope they will improve on the ac, showers, and accessibility that is important to allow more people to enjoy. It's not worth the 170€. But if some improvements will take place, it sure will. (curly gals pack a, hair conditioner, you'll need it btw)
