Great location for walking to restaurants in belgirate and access to lake. Super helpful and kind hosts. Lovely breakfast. Overall very happy with our 4 night spent here. Will be back for sure. Thanks Mauro and Jane!

“Great experience”

My family and I had some great days at the B&B. Jane and Mauro were extremely friendly and helpful, the rooms are nice and it was great to be able to sit outside in the garden and have breakfast. It is an easy walk to the lake, and it is highly recommended to take a boat trip to the islands.

After working and travelling in the North of Italy for 2 weeks, I had the privilege of spending a night at this little gem on Lago Maggiore. Since the last stretch of my trip meant staying in 4 different places in 5 days I was a bit jaded by the time I got to Torre Lara. I was pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere and ambience of Torre Lara. The thing that struck me was the original and beautiful antique furniture - no cheap knock-offs here like the other places I'd stayed in. Care and attention to detail is everywhere, right down to the toiletries in the bathroom. I absolutely loved the shower gel and wish I'd remembered to ask where I could get some. No cheapie refillable bottles here. The entire place is spotless. The breakfast is fresh and original. The owners made me a pot of tea with a gorgeous teacup - you rarely see this kind of thing these days, particularly in Italy. The owner and his wife are Italian and British respectively. Warm and welcoming and helpful with advice on where to eat and what to do. The location is very convenient, with the local station being less than 1 km away. I didn't find the train noise to be a problem at all. I highly recommend a stay at this B & B. I will definitely be going back
