Never stayed somewhere where there was no reception, but was perfect, I was emailed how to get in and with no hassle. Met the lady at breakfast and was very friendly and helpful. Only a 10min walk from il duomo, very safe area as a solo female traveller. Only downfalls tv did not work (didnt mind as was not in Florence to watch tv) and the lighting in the room was a bit dull,not a big issue. Otherwise perfect location and would recommend.

To begin with we didn't quite know what to expect when we booked this hotel. The good: 1.Spacious room 2.Clean 3.Shared bathroom was always clean and we never had to wait outside. 4.Walking distance from the Duomo (central point of the city) 5. Breakfast was decent (the only place in Italy I received my does of scrambled eggs) 6. The only hotel who actually gave us a 'receipt' for the tourist tax. (greatly appreciated) The things to keep in mind 1.It was just 1.7km from the station, however if you reach in the afternoon heat dragging your bags to the hotel can be quite a task. Not to mention the cobble stone roads dont lend themselves too well to dragging your luggage. 2.The doors downstairs - a new experience for us as we not not used to unmanned doors (however as we soon found out there a few people in Italy, unlike India and most entrances are unmanned with you having to buzz yourself in. All in all i would definitely recommend this place. -Gavin

Upon arriving in the middle of the day, like others who mentioned it, the reception was closed and we had to call a number on the door to get in. This was relatively simple and effective once we figured out how to do it. This is pretty much a one-woman show so it's understandable she must leave from time to time. When she was there, she was always very helpful and kind. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. We had a terrace looking out at the neighboring buildings, but we were only ever out there to stretch. When it started to get cooler in the evenings she gave us extra blankets since the building service doesn't allow them to turn on the heat until the end of October. The location is close enough to walk to all the main attractions and very residential. We found it ideal. The only down side for us was the breakfast. Extremely basic and couldn't sustain us walking about for more than 30 minutes. There's only so much toast, jam and yogurt one can fill up on. Once we went to the supermarket and supplemented the yogurt with the muesli and fruit we bought, everything was better. Lovely one week stay. We would definitely stay here again.

Room was very basic but clean. We stayed for 4 nights and room was cleaned daily. However it was only the towels that got changed and bed made. The floor was not swept During our visit. We didn't have a bathroom in our room, we had a shared bathroom. Was mostly ok, however on one occasion I had to wait about 30 - 40 minutes For a shower (must have been a busy time at the B&b) It is very close to centre and attractions. I don't know why it is rated so highly on here because I have stayed at much better places... must be because it is clean although very basic.
