The photos make the hotel look more than it is but the hotel was clean and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was good and the serving staff attentive. The receptionist worked very hard as he was serving two hotels simultaneously. The room had a separate toilet but unfortunately it had no separate ventilation. The room took 2 hours to get warm. The TV did not work. Internet was fine. There were no notices about what to do in case of emergency. This is probably against the law. The room charge would have been less if we had walked in off the street instead of having booked in advance. Good position. Quiet road.

It is very easy to say that the Hotel Bejuna is awful and give it 1 star and yes if I was, as I have read in other reviews a business traveller staying during a trade fair and paying Euro 300,00 then I would be justified in writing such a review ... a trade fair rate of Euro 150,00 would be justified. I stayed 1 night (Saturday) and paid Euro 44,00 (excl breakfast which would have been an extra Euro 7,00) for what is a basic hotel that seriously needs to either be renovated or taking a more minimalistic approach in a superb location, very friendly staff and an extremely simple but extremely clean room/bathroom. The hotel is run down from the damaged/cheap pictures on the walls through to the lack of uniformity with the design. Carpets, worn and far past their best) are old and the wall paper - including dents and scratches were I guess furniture was moved - has seen better days, probably around the mid 90s. I didn't hear excessive noise so can't comment on the other reviewers mentioning the paper thin walls although I was on the top floor with no directly adjoining room. The bathroom and bedding was spotless and with this you can see immediately that the cleaning staff had made 100% effort to provide a clean room in addition to leaving the window on tilt given that it was summer and as the room was under the roof a closed window would not have been appreciated ... also shower gel, shampoos and plenty of hot water. Other points are a satisfactory life (up to the 4th floor only so careful if you have heavy bags for rooms 51 and 52) and a key for the main entrance door as the reception is not manned 24/7. The wifi, free of charge, also works fine with bandwidth sufficient for streaming. The location however is 5 star and the rest ... 10 mins from the luxury shopping street (Konigsallee), 6 mins from the main train station ... all really easy to find as its a straight line between the 2 ... 12 mins from the old town and all with 1 - 2 mins connections to bus and tram stops. If you want to be central then this is THE street to go for. As mentioned the staff are young but extremely friendly with English spoken in addition, naturally, to German. Yes the staff are young and yes they must realise that what they are servicing is a tad dated but they make the effort seen in more modern hotels to welcome you and be extremely helpful with checking in, the facilities and surrounding amenities. So in summary at the rate I paid and given the location, spotlessly clean and a bed for the night a great hotel which I would recommend and if you get a competitive trade fair rate then yes I would also recommend this as it is only meant to be a place to rest your head ... if you want anything else like a lounge/bar etc. then probably look else where and pay the going/expensive city rates.
