“Pleasant stay”

Even if we had difficulties to find the hotel, we enjoyed our stay. The room size was ok, it was very hot and we were pleased to see a fan in the room, there is no lift so not convenient for pushchairs, simple breakfast but ok.

Contrary to lots of reviews we had read, our stay was very pleasant. Location and the place itself was very good for the price range. Contrary to lots of reviews we had read, our stay was very pleasant. Location and the place itself was very good for the price range. We had a room with a great view (though it did get a bit noisy at night), the bathroom was very clean and big, and the room was super comfortable. No complains really. The only downside was the rather late check in with out being able to drop your bags anywhere, so keep that in mind, as we had to wait some hours with all our lugagge which wasn't great. Also make sure you ring the phone on the door to get instructions for check in.

This place is not what you would traditionally call a B&B as breakfast was pretty much just biscuits and cereal. The staff were extremely pleasant, the location is excellent, it is literally 100 feet from an Indiana Jones scene and no more than 20 minutes from all the main attractions (St. Marks, Doges Palace, Hard Rock Cafe etc...). There are some great eateries and bars in the area (2-3 mins walk). Accommodation however is very dated, there are NO private bathrooms, only shared, and are extremely unmodernised and out dated. I understand that the building is 500 years old, but unfortunately does look it. Rooms have shutters which unfortunately does not keep all of the local noise out (drinkers in Fri/Sat nights). We happened to be on the top floor where the door had no lock just a small padlock you wouldn't trust to keep your suitcase luggage safe. Not really aimed at couples, and a little over pricey for what you get. Overall experience was ok, location is the main thing here.
