Fantastic place in stunning setting, 5 star rooms and communal areas and Francesco was a kind and very welcoming host. We felt at home immediately and it is a great place to relax and explore the Modica area. Very pleased we chose this place and would definitely like to return and stay for longer. A walk in the nearby Cava D'Ispica are a must! Stunning terrain.

Amazing place in a fantastic part of a beautiful Region: Sicily! Valata Minusa is a brilliant Country Resort, newly renovated with charme and high-style decor which will be the perfect base for your visits around the South-East of Sicily. Pictures from the web do not reflect entirely the beauty of the place: it's really much better. Francesco is the most friendly host you can expect, very much in line with Sicilian style, lovely, available for several tips and suggestions; you do not feel as a guest, you feel being at home. Either if you travel in couple/family with children or with some friends Valata Minusa will match with all your requirements and...even more.

Spent an enjoyable week here on a cooking holiday, which was great. This review is primarily about the accommodation rather than the holiday as a whole. I had a small apartment, which was clean and perfectly adequate for my needs, with a small room downstairs with wardrobe space, and the toilet / shower room. The bed was above on a mezzanine level, and was comfortable. However, there was nowhere inside to sit comfortably, for example if you wanted to be indoors to read for a while. The wifi signal was erratic and often dropped out. The public areas of the buildings were very spacious and tastefully renovated and furnished. The reason for not giving 5 stars is that there were small signs that the care and maintenance of the details of the accommodation were not perhaps as good as they might be. The garden areas were overall a bit lacking in interest and colour, and the wooden handrail to a raised seating area was loose, which might be a problem if you put your weight on it. This could easily rate 5 stars with a bit more thought and attention to detail.

I was in two minds whether to give this wonderful building average or very good but chose to be generous because I had a great New Year but that was more to do with the Flavours Cooking Holiday I went with. So this review is about the property. It is an amazing set of buildings and the living areas very comfortable and I can see that in the summer it's just the thing. When we were there tthough we had heavy snow on New Years Eve and the average temperature was 1 degree. So these are my suggestions if the company want to carry on for winter trade (in order of priority) Firstly and most importantly tend to the very thin neglected horse in your field. It's heartbreaking to see. Also not very good PR. PLEASE PLEASE get the hot water sorted in the bathrooms...intermittent hot/tepid water, at these prices, is simply not acceptable. Connect the towel rails in the bathroom so that the bathrooms are warm. It may be blissfully cool in the summer but it is freezing in the winter. Fluffy good quality duvets or blankets. A good supply of good quality towels in each room. Tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms so that I don't have to get dressed and don't have to hike to the kitchen in the freezing cold to make some. Wi fi in the rooms. Oh and we didn't see the owner once. If he'd visited then I would have addressed these issues with him.
