The location is perfect, is right down the street from the Village shops and restaurants and not far from the lake and the zoo. Rachael was great and provided outstanding customer service, she went above and beyond when we needed to book an extra room on the first floor on the day of our arrival for our relative. Of course if you have problems climbing any stairs, definitely stick to the first floor as there are no elevators or handicap ramps. There is no AC by the way, and will definitely stay here again!

“Clean Lodge - Good Location”

This was a nice and clean place to stay. Nice bath towels, clean bedding. Ice Machine in office. close proximity to Big Bear Village. Bed was a bit too soft, but only stayed one night, so it was fine.

My friend and I were driving into town and called the Honey Bear Lodge to see if we could check in early. When we did, the staff said I had accidentally booked the following weekend instead (major moron moment!) I asked if they had any rooms available, and they said they were full up. We began driving around town and checking to see if other places had any vacancies. We finally found one, and as I was booking it, the Honey Bear Lodge called. A couple had canceled last minute, and they offered us their room! Also, they honored the couple's direct booking price, which was $50 less than my Experian price. After heaping tons of praise onto them for saving us, we sped over to get our room. The property was amazing! Located only a few minutes' walk from The Village (the down town area with the bars and restaurants) and less than 10 minutes from the beach, you wouldn't know it when pulling into this place. Tucked up into the forest, the lodge had a very secluded vibe to it, despite being so close to the action, making it a perfect location! There's an outside common area with picnic tables, chairs and BBQs, and is lit up at night. The second floor public balconies have stools, tables and chairs overlooking the property with great views of the lake and trees, as well as the stars and moon at night. The room was gorgeous as well. The first floor had a bed, futon, TV, wood stove, sink, mini-fridge and bathroom. The second floor loft had a second bed, making it spacious enough for 4 adults or a family. It had a genuine alpine feel (naturally) and was very clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and accommodating, the rooms were clean and quiet, the property was in peak condition (they clearly spend a lot of time and effort maintaining this place) and it was located right by all the places you want to be in Big Bear--while still maintaining a secluded alpine atmosphere. I HIGHLY recommend this place to couples, groups of friends and families looking for a great place to stay in Big Bear. We will be singing it's praises until our next visit. I stayed for 2 nights during Labor Day weekend in the cabin, which has 1 bathroom, 1 bedroom with 2 queen beds, 1 living room with a futon, and a kitchenette. Note that they do not have AC. It was about 90 degrees but the rooms didn't get too hot. The space was decent for the price (we paid $475 total). We were able to call and check in early, around 2pm. My main concern was the cleanliness of the place. The beds were made, towels were clean, and floor was clean, but I felt there was still dust everywhere. The counters had ants, the tops of the fridges were dirty, and the inside of the fridge was broken. The location is close to where the town is, so food was super convenient and in walking distance.
