First, let me start off by stating that we didn't book online due the fact that pictures online weren't that great and the reviews were lack luster. anyway, we took our chances and went there a few days before Christmas. upon, arriving a really was surprised how the photos actually didn't capture the char of the pousada. the location was perfect, it was about a block in from ponta verde. we found ponta verde to be the safest and cleanest beach in our opinion. the other areas such as pajucara beach seemed a bit packed and i really didn't feel that comfortable in that area. So, let me get back to Gogo da Ema for a in dept review. Upon walking up the steps we noticed a large sheik cover open patio with couches and chair, not to mention with a view of the beach. the area came in handy, for my wife's family came to visit and we had a family gathering out there with some drinks. The lobby itself was warm and welcoming with a nice couch, flat screen tv and a computer with free internet. our hotel room was simple as most pousada's are in Brazil. our main concern was addressed, which was the room was clean and spacious with plenty of towels and soap. The breakfast in the morning seemed to be ran by the owner with plenty and i mean plenty of food. the variety of food was stupendous with eggs, pies, yuca, pudding, cake...and yes freshly squeezed juices. I have stayed at several pousada's and this was the best breakfast spread ever. The breakfast is served every morning in the go go da ema resaturant, which is grounfd level of the hotel. We actually met the owner and her husband a real nice group of folks that are dedicated to their establishment. P.S if you looking for a good and reasonable restaurant try the go go da ema. the actual restaurant is ran by a third party. the food was good and very reasonable, If i recall we got chicken for two with rice, beans, and fries for like $15.00 us. In closing, Ponta verde is the beach to be at and if you are looking for a clean reasoanle priced hotel the go go is the place to be...let me try my portuguese...muito bom and muito limpa pousda....excellente ...obrigado

Gogo da Ema is located at the Ponta Verde neighborhood, halfway between the nightlife options of Jatiúca neighborhood (e.g. Maikai Show Bar) and Pajuçara beach (both at walking distance, about 20 minutes). Ponta Verde neighborhood itself is a beautiful and tranquil place with a nice beach (Praia de Ponta Verde). The inn is good/satisfactory in all aspects, but there is room for improvement (e.g. the bathroom sink could use a maintenance). The staff is friendly, but do not speak English. If you know a little Portuguese (even a few words), you can get your problems solved though (this applies for all Brazilian inns). I recommend Gogo da Ema, and I would stay here again.
