“Professionally Run and Excellent Value Hotel”

I have not skied for a few years dues to covid and illness. So I decided to go for a cheaper ski holiday, to ease back into it. This hotel has surprised me pleasantly. It is better than expected. It definately kicks above a 3-Star hotel. It is professionally run. The welcome from the staff was warm and friendly. The rooms are clean and spacious. The walk-in power shower was very welcome. As was the flat screen TV with international channels. Being on a half-board basis, I was impressed with how professional the kitchen was run. The standard of the food is very good with different dishes on offer, on a buffet basis. This made me over-eat, so this not the place for you, if you are on a diet. Now, the negatives: This hotel caters for the school-holiday market. In the evening the school kids can make a loud racket. But I actually found this added to the atmosphere, hearing lots of laughter and banter. It dies off after 10pm. The walls of the rooms are wafer thin. I could hear every word spoken by the room next to mine. I could have joined their conversation, if I wanted to. The ski bus stop is a few hundred metres away and the buses do not follow a timetable. The bus service is a bit hit and miss, which a pain when you have all of your ski-gear with you. Walking to the gondola is uphill and will take around 20 minutes with your ski-gear. Not easy and not good. Despite the above, I found my stay was very comfortable. If you are on a budget but expect a high standard, this is a fine choice of hotel.

“Short ski trip”

The hotel was very clean, staff were very friendly and helpful. The beds were comfortable and the shower was quite powerful. The reception and bar area was nice. The only downside was that the walls were quite thin and I could hear talking in the adjacent rooms. It was a 10 minute walk to the go… more

The only downside was that the walls were quite thin and I could hear talking in the adjacent rooms. It was a 10 minute walk to the gondola, but the free bus pulled up outside. It was just difficult to know when to catch it. Outside pool was closed due to winter conditions. Would stay there again

“Nice hotel but wouldn’t stay again”

Modern hotel with rushing river and mountains around it. Lovely room, comfortable bed with good mattress, pillows and soft linens. Bathroom is open plan wet room with great double shower and nice quality products provided. The room was cold when we arrived and we had to speak to staff 5 times over… more

Modern hotel with rushing river and mountains around it. Lovely room, comfortable bed with good mattress, pillows and soft linens. Bathroom is open plan wet room with great double shower and nice quality products provided. The room was cold when we arrived and we had to speak to staff 5 times over many hours before anything was done. Restaurant is boring, underground, low roof and noisy. Plenty of food choices but food quite bland, often luke warm and everything has pork in it - poor for a vegetarian, almost impossible for vegan. The restaurant staff were all really friendly and helpful, though restaurant manager was a bit surly at times. The main entrance/reception staff were not good, except for the mature lady who was very helpful. The open plan reception/bar area is less appealing than a dentist waiting room. The bar was often unmanned. I said we would not stay again because during our week , 4xcoach loads of teenagers were there - the noise levels, unruly and bad mannered Portuguese and Spanish kids was disgraceful. Banging doors, shouting and running around until 2-3am, meals times was like St Trinians 😠 Complaints ++ were made by many but nothing changed. School trips a regular feature of this hotel - beware.
