“Lovely Hotel, Great Views”

The friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff at this hotel were excellent. Jean Luc, the manager and the young lady on reception always greeted us with a smile. The hotel is clean and bright and we had a great room with lovely views from our balcony. The breakfast is very good and we had 2 delicious dinners at the hotel. There are several nice sitting areas outside including by the pool and jacuzzi. The bus stop is close and it is only a short walk to the seafront and a few minutes into the centre of Forio. We would have liked a kettle in the room but staff willingly provided hot water on request.

We spent a week here in October 2018 and had a great time, very quiet time of year but this didn't stop the hotel. Nothing was an issue and they did everything they could to make our stay excellent. From the moment we walked through the door until the moment we left I felt thoroughly welcomed and could not recommend it enough. The food that is served in the hotel is excellent but don't eat lunch beforehand, the portions are huge and never ending. The first night we ate there we had to turn down the 3rd plate of food and dessert as we couldn't eat anymore. (Catered for a veggie as well) I can't thank them enough for our stay and there must be something in the Ischia water as I am 20 weeks pregnant..... So thank you again for a wonderful stay!

“Charming place to stay”

We had a very good couple of nights here. Very friendly welcome and help with advice on places to visit. Beautifully light and bright rooms with Mediterranean blue floors and walls. Nicely fitted out. Floaty voile curtains which could be a problem if you need darkness to sleep well. Useful drying racks on the balcony - our clothes dried at lightning speed!. Nice pool. As the hotel is some way out of the town of Forio, we were delighted to be able to eat dinner here each night. Delicious fresh food for €20 pp. We could not have eaten better. The hotel is small - note that there is no lift so could be a mobility access issue.

A well run very clean reasonably priced hotel with friendly and professional staff. We had a lovely 12 night holiday here, travelled by Alilauro ferry from Molo Beverello port in Naples direct to Forio. The hotel staff were very helpful in providing us with information before we arrived to the Island. We had a very comfortable room mid floor with good side sea view, and a reasonably quiet location. As we were out every day we only had an evening meal in the hotel on the night that they had rabbit traditional dish and the food was good. As we came back in the evening, we saw many people dining in the hotel restaurant. Chiai beach is about 10 minutes walk from the hotel although a slight hill on the way back to the hotel. There is an excellent local bus service, with bus stop just a few minutes away from the hotel. You can buy a weekly bus ticket which is very good value. This hotel, in my opinion, is located in the best part of the island, near Citara beach and Poseidon Thermal Spa which we visited twice, and it was a wonderful experience. The town of Forio is charming and has a lovely atmosphere. The hotel was ideal for us as we wanted to tour around the island. We also went to the Sorgetto thermal springs in the sea although you would need to be careful as the rocks are quite slippy. Ischia is a beautiful Island and if you do get an opportunity to go there I think you will be delighted with your choice. Additionally, the Iris Hotel hardworking staff will, I think, do whatever they can to make it a memorable holiday for you.
