This is a lovely traditional Austrian hotel. If you are wanting bland 5 star luxury then this isn’t for you. We loved the wooden Tirolian look and feel to the place. Breakfast is ample. This is a lovely traditional Austrian hotel. If you are wanting bland 5 star luxury then this isn’t for you. We loved the wooden Tirolian look and feel to the place. Breakfast is ample. Range of cold meats, rolls, cereals, small selection of hot bits, fruit and pastries. And served 7-10 so good timings. Lovely family run and room was cleaned every day with new towels etc. The only reason for 4 and not 5 is because it would have been good to have some tea and coffee facilities in room. Would return.

First impressions might leave you wondering if you've picked the right hotel, but stick with it. The bedroom furniture may be something from the 1980s with pine bed frames and coloured bathroom fixtures, but the homely authenticity shines through. The bedrooms are serviced every day with bed sheets and towels changed. From the reception, they'll give you a bathrobe that you can wear to the sauna(s)/ steamroom/ swimming pool. The sauna room/ pool is a complete modern contrast to the bedrooms. The hotel and annexe (garni) are connected at the basement level with a ski locker room. Breakfast (7am till 10am) is good with a mix of continental and a couple of hot items (usually bacon and egg). Other reviews may make you wonder about petrol station. Yes, it might affect the aesthetic if you're on one side of the hotel, but the pros are you can get juice/ beer/ice cream, etc. without walking up to the other nearest shop. The garage is run by the same Obermair family. The 'B' ski bus stops right outside and takes you to Penken gondola/ ski hire shop, via train station, that takes you to other ski areas (Zell am Ziller for example) or onwards to Innsbruck. Note ski pass let's you use buses and train all the way to Jenbach! Overall, it is a great choice of hotel that exceeds expectations... if you can live with 1980s furniture.
