“Great staff, quiet rooms, good long term stay”

I had ankle replacement in NYC and spent 35 days at Homewood Suites recovering. Staff were wonderful to work with. The manager brought me a get well balloon and a Homewood Suites fleece throw. They accommodated cleaning while I stayed in the room since I was elevating my ankle above heart height 90% of the first 2 weeks and 60% of next 2 weeks. There are a number of good restaurants you can order takeout from. Wednesday evening soup, salad, wine and beer nights were always very pleasant. On the days that were warm enough, and once I could get around a little on my knee scooter I enjoyed the large 2nd floor patio facing woods and the river even though you could hear a little road noise there. Inside our room there was no road noise. In 35 nights there were 1 or 2 when we were aware of a children’s birthday party partly being celebrated in lobby area we were close to. But even then not much noise or for long. Furniture shows some wear and accessible living room needs better lighting. When our son and his family visited we saw that regular 1 BR suite has more lamps and better lighting. Very nice staff. Very accepting of our corgi and our cat. I highly recommend this hotel

“A little off”

So i was going to rate it a 2 but my wife said I was being to harsh. First off, the staff is very friendly. The rooms, appliances actually everything needs a major update. Very used and old. Gold members here do not get the 15 dollar credit I'm guessing because breakfast is included. So no benefit… more

So i was going to rate it a 2 but my wife said I was being to harsh. First off, the staff is very friendly. The rooms, appliances actually everything needs a major update. Very used and old. Gold members here do not get the 15 dollar credit I'm guessing because breakfast is included. So no benefits of being gold. When going to room there was an adult male sitting on floor of hallway. Later I am pretty sure I saw him just sitting in vehicle in parking lot. Somewhat shady happenings. Breakfast was ok , but nothing to really write home about. I would stay here again in a bind , but would probably pick somewhere else.

“NEEDS AN UPGRADE! OLD AND WORN”

When we opened the door to the room the first thing, we noticed was the smell. it smelled like cigarette smoke, and we are all non-smokers, so it was very strong. We had a 2-bedroom suite with 2 bathrooms #304. When we opened the door to the room the first thing, we noticed was the smell. it smelled like cigarette smoke, and we are all non-smokers, so it was very strong. We notified the front desk, and they said they could have someone come up and spray! It was 10:00pm and I wasn't sure if the product they would spray would be much better. We were able to open the windows which the locks were all broken and the screens were worn, but it least it helped with the smell. The beds were old, stained and uncomfortable. The sheets did not even fit, and the mattress was exposed which made it very difficult to sleep. The rug was worn and felt dirty on our feet. The furniture was worn, and the room appeared dingy. Overall, I would say they need some serious upgrades in order to be in the Hilton family of hotels. The good points: it was spacious, and the bathrooms were clean. We will not stay here in the future.
