This was our first time staying at Sunbird Condominiums and we were very impressed. We booked through Resort Collection so I can't speak to the quality of other condos. We were in the West Tower room 101. The condo was up to date on appliances and furnishings. It was very tastefully decorated. The bed was comfortable and clean. We originally booked 3 guests but 1 of our guests was unable to come due to work. Had the 3rd guest came a inflatable mattress was available in the room. We had more than enough towels and toiletries provided. Repairs from the hurricane were still being made to the buildings, so as a result the tennis courts were closed but this did not detract from our stay. I believe 1 pool was closed as well but it was not the one closest to us so we were not affected. The pool was clean and cold and the pool deck neatly kept. I did appreciate the use of the gate code(for parking and beach), I feel it provided a safety and privacy as well as ensuring there was ample parking. The only complaint I have is the pedestrian gates in the parking lot were chained and padlocked making it impossible to leave without driving your vehicle or walking the beach. We discovered this one night when we wanted to walk next door to Pineapple Willy's for dinner. Luckily the man working in the guard shack at the gate was returning from the restroom so we were able to run under the car gate when he came through.

“Sunbird Resort”

Awesome place to stay. Conviently located. Staff was excellent. Only complaint is unit 606 E the furniture needs to be updated in the worse way + no washer/dryer in unit. Will def stay here again but will request a unit with updated furniture.

My wife and I stayed at the Sunbird through Emerald Beach Properties Aug. 29th through Sept. 2. We stayed in condo 1008W “Hugo’s Sugar Shack”. I gave it a 3 star only because of the location and view. Great view but your neighbors can see you. Bad smell in condo. They said it was from cleaning but the smell was just as bad when we left as when we checked in. The bed was uncomfortable, sand on the floor through out the condo, hairs on the floor, used bar of soap in shower, dried up food spills on counter, and thick dust on the ceiling fans. The thermostat would only go as low as 69 degrees. It was hot in the bedroom at night. They had a ceiling fan in there but if you turned it on high, I think it would have fallen. Wasn’t given the gate code for September so we couldn’t get back in when we went out on Thursday. Guard wouldn’t let us in the gate without the right code. Luckily another guess gave me the new gate code. Not a bad condo just needs some TLC.
