We stayed here during a group trip so I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. As others have mentioned, this is a no frills place to stay. It is kept incredibly clean and the people are friendly. However, the twin beds lack the comfort of modern hotels and you can hear noises down the hall. However, if you want somewhere unique to stay while you’re in this part of the world for one night, this is a very economical option.

“Almost peaceful”

The landscape and the monastery are great, both beautiful and quiet. The staff is helpful and nice to all the guests. All the facilities are impeccably clean. The landscape and the monastery are great, both beautiful and quiet. The staff is helpful and nice to all the guests. All the facilities are impeccably clean. However, two major problems: 1- no TV in the rooms (not so much of a problem if you really want to relax) 2- There is no acoustic isolation between the rooms! If someone in the room next to yours flushes the toilet, you hear it loud and clear. And after 9 am, there is a system of communication speakers, between the reception and the different floors that prevents you from oversleeping: you keep listening different orders between the lady in the reception and the floor staff.

I was going to give this a good review. The bedrooms are basic but clean and spacious with a good bathroom. The thing that has prompted me not to is the noise. We were woken at 6.50 on a Sunday by someone sounding as if they were taking the room apart! The trouble is that with the rooms being concrete boxes, any noise made just reverberates round 10 times louder and some people just don't seem to care about how much noise they make. We paid as much for a two night stay here as a three night stay in a Pension. The Pension was a much better stay, so this is not good value so would not stay again.

It was impossible to find a hotel in Pontevedra so we opted for this option which is only a short drive from Pontevedra and super cheap. Nothing special but the price is unbeatable. The room is standard 1 star. Nothing fancy but comes with towels, soap and shampoo. No TV. The design is very old fashioned but for a one night sleep you can't complain.
