“Ok hotel, rude staff”

The hotel was booked through a traveling agency, so as you can guess they told us it was much better than it really was. The rooms were ok, pretty average, not squeaky clean, but not dirty either. Our room had a balcony with a sea view. The beach is very close - just across the road. Food was really nice, but after you stay there for a week, it can get pretty boring, especially if you're vegetarian. Breakfast and dinner were included in our price and I'm glad that we had to find our own lunch, so that we could get at least some variety. The humidity is crazy, so our clothes weren't dry even after hanging the whole night outside. The worst about this hotel is the staff! When we first arrived, we wanted something to drink (it was around 2 in the afternoon) and got a table on the hotel terrace. We have waited well over 30 minutes before we went to the bar and asked the waiter if we could get something to drink. He obviously didn't want to work and wasn't very pleased that we were there (we were the only ones). After another 15 minutes wait he brought us some drinks but wasn't friendly or kind at all. And during the breakfast and dinner we had to constantly listen to the waiters (one was especially horrible) who was looking at your plate and didn't want to take the plate away until you ate everything! Even when I repeatedly asked for the plate to be taken away, he didn't want to and told me to "Eat everything first!" He was also looking at our plates all the time. And another, younger waiter was really pushy and started hitting on me. I felt extremely uncomfortable. All in all, it was ok, but I would pick another hotel if I was ever to return to Alanya. If you don't mind a bit of rudeness and arrogance, go for it!

We enjoyed our weeks holiday at Hotel Sara. The staff were extremely friendly & always ready to help. Food was good & there was plenty to choose from. Pool area was also good & clean with a decent sized pool & comfortable sun beds. Great location. The hotel is very close to the town & the beach is just over the road. The rooms were on the whole OK & they were cleaned every day but the hotel is a little run down & the bedrooms & bathrooms definitely need to be renovated. My main complaint would be that the music was played too high at the pool bar making it difficult to talk to each other in the evenings !!! But it was turned down at mealtimes. Also a more varied playlist of music would have been good instead of the same music every day. But on the whole an enjoyable stay.
