“Spacious room, good bed, nice bathroom, everything good !”

“Very nice hotel with central location”

A very nice hotel with a lot to offer. There is a very impressive enclosed central courtyard. The hotel offers several places to eat and a comfortable bar area. The staff were very helpful and responded quickly to any request. This is a very nice place to stay.

We were visiting China on a group tour and stayed two nights at the hotel, with a break in between. We were in one room at the “back”, overlooking the square and we spent the other night in room 823, overlooking the lake, at the front of the hotel, which had the best view and was our preferred room… more

We were visiting China on a group tour and stayed two nights at the hotel, with a break in between. We were in one room at the “back”, overlooking the square and we spent the other night in room 823, overlooking the lake, at the front of the hotel, which had the best view and was our preferred room. The waterfall that the hotel is known for is when water cascades down the back outside of the hotel every night at 20.30 for ten minutes and consequently there’s a lot of moss on the back of the hotel and the windows are dirty. That said, the hotel is very good, with lots of unusual features. One of these is that there is an huge indoor quadrangle area and two sides of the hotel have windows looking out into the inner area of the hotel, which resembles a large mall. The large bedrooms, with very comfortable big beds are really well equipped, with nice, traditional hotel furniture. The room contains everything you would need, including scales, toothbrushes, shower caps, tissues, fridge, tv, desk and chair, easy chair, footstool, sideboard, kettle, tea and coffee, safe, wardrobe, shoehorn and more. Breakfast was very good, with lots of choices of western or Asian food and the only problem we had was the food buffet selection didn’t flow and it wasn’t easy to find some things eg cereal/dessert spoons which were well hidden away from where you’d expect. The location is a short walk from the very busy Main Street, which has loads of trinket and food shops and stalls, but we only found one cafe or bar type establishment, an Irish bar, just off the Main Street.

“Dated but comfortable”

Decent hotel in a fantastic location, in walking distance of the lake, restaurants, markets and shops. Interior and furniture are dated (must have been in its prime in the 1990s) but the room was spacious and clean. Bathroom was well appointed. Buffet breakfast was exceptional. Staff were lovely.
