“Lovely stay shame it’s closing”

Very clean,staff friendly and helpful.The hotel representative was so helpful nothing was too much trouble. Food was nice but wasn’t very hot,but l think they were short staffed It’s a great shame they are closing l was going to recommend.

I guess as the Hotel is permanently closing 31st October a review could be deemed unnecessary but for the benefit of anyone staying before then here goes. I guess as the Hotel is permanently closing 31st October a review could be deemed unnecessary but for the benefit of anyone staying before then here goes. They offer an option of a £5 a day per room discount in the bar if you opt out of having your room cleaned daily. I think this is an excellent idea and should be encouraged elsewhere. I personally find the daily intrusion of having the room cleaned a nuisance so this to me was an excellent idea. You can obtain clean towels on request plus further supplies of tea, coffee and toiletries. The room was slightly cramped and hot but a fan is provided. Also a kettle and safe in the room plus a self service laundry and Ironing room and free access for guests to the Leisure centre. Wi Fi was excellent throughout the hotel all the time and there a couple of PC's in the Lobby free to use. Staff were friendly and efficient even though they had to cope with staff shortages and are now having to find alternative employment. Special thanks to Tony in the bar and Peter and Daniel in the Restaurant. The Bar itself was quite small which led to long queues particularly in the evening. There was also a shortage of tables at busy times. To be honest the Lounge had the feel of an old persons home but this may be because there were a lot of coach parties staying. Such a shame the Hotel is closing as we would have definitely stayed again on our next visit to Jersey.

Just returned from 3 night break. Staff at Reception are pleasant and efficient, rooms are adequately set out with very good shower , TV large bed, storage areas , plenty of storage , coffee, hairdryer mirrors etc, no fridge and rooms tended to be warm and limited ventilation. Meals are good, I found the Breakfast was very varied and substantial and included "full English"after having consumed Toast , fruit and cereals . Facilities including very well equipped Gym and adequate swimming pool. Entertainment in evening was good, a magician, comedian cum bingo caller by name of Damien James was most entertaining. Regretably the large hotel, probably 200 units is set to close for good next month , so endeth The Mayfair.
