“Lovely place to stay”

We only stayed one night, was welcomed at 10 pm. Got shown around. Rooms are simple, clean and comfy bed. Just what you need. Breakfast was lovely, wide variety of food. Staff were helpful too. “Beautiful, quiet surroundings: close but not in the city.”

Once we found it, we loved the beautiful Gillis Centre. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Rooms basic but comfortable. Breakfast plentiful. Nice alternative to hotel. Had to take a short bus ride to and from the city but got to see more of Edinburgh because of that. Would stay there again.

It was a bit of a last-minute decision to go to the Fringe and accommodation was over-priced everywhere in the city. The rooms were basic but clean and well-maintained. It was a bit of a last-minute decision to go to the Fringe and accommodation was over-priced everywhere in the city. The rooms were basic but clean and well-maintained. Breakfast was okay but you should not arrive at the table 1minute before or after 10 am! We especially enjoyed the beautiful gardens. Unfortunately, our room was directly on the street and it was noisy in the early morning/early evening. Wifi did NOT work in out room (12). Overall, I would book here again but would request a quiet room.
