Check in We arrived at BYD Lofts 4 hours later than expected due to a long delay at Doha. However, upon arrival, check-in was quick and we were shown to our room and shown around the room too. We also received a welcome drink and cool flannel, which was much appreciated. Room Our room was very clean and decorated in a very modern style. We had our own living room, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. All amenities required in the room were there, including a safe, iron, ironing board, microwave, sink, fridge freezer, 2 TV's, 2 AC units and 2 umbrellas with a basket of fruit. The only thing not in our room were robes. TV's & WiFi The TV's were brilliant with excellent connections for your own devices. The TV in our bedroom was not working properly, we reported it to reception and they sent someone to sort it straight away. They are very responsive and nothing was too much trouble. All the staff are extremely friendly and very helpful. Wifi had excellent speed and works all over the 3 hotel buildings. BYD Lofts There are 3 BYD Lofts accommodation all 1 minute walking distance from each. Ours was just rooms. However, the other 2 had other facilities. The one with reception and the restaurant had a rooftop pool and the other one had a smaller pool and gym on the ground floor. Gym and Pool Excellent gym with all high spec equipment and weights. There are towels on all the loungers around the pool. Breakfast There was fruit, bread, cereal, juices, milk cakes, croissants, cheeses, jam and bacon sausages and you can get eggs and pancakes to order. The breakfast staff are absolutely lovely and a big thank you to Sonja, Lun and Faye. Special Birthday It was my 50th birthday whilst I was here and my husband organised with Katie in reception a very special treat for me in the room, when I returned back from having a massage. I was totally surprised. Then the staff came and sang Happy Birthday and gave me a slice of birthday cake which was delicious. Beach The beach is about a 5 minute walk if that and you will see loads of shops and restaurants along the whole stretch of the beach. Local shop & Restaurants There are so many shops in the locality from 7 eleven mini supermarkets, pharmacy, massage parlours, souvenir and clothes shops, fresh juice drinks shops, laundry shops and plenty of restaurants. Massage Parlours There are a lot of massage parlours in Phuket. I wanted one on my birthday that looked professional and was of high quality and clean. The one we went to was all of this and no one was outiside calling you to come in. It was called Chakra. Restaurants we liked BYD Lofts own restaurant is good, it's called Brasserie C'est La Vie, food was always good from there. Pots, Pints & Tikis we had some really good meals from here burgers, pizza, pasta and club sandwich really good, however the quesadilla was not good, would advise not to order it. Butchers Gardens best meal I had here on the whole holiday, note I am pescatarian and its was the best tasting fish I have had in my lifetime. It's a very nice restaurant for a special occasion but it was so quiet the day we went and there was not much atmosphere at all. Meg Khram was where we ate for my actual 50th, whilst it was a beautiful restaurant for the occasion and very busy with a saxophonist and the location was amazing with the views. My husband said it was his best meal he had on the whole holiday. Unfortunately, my fish meal was far nicer at Butchers Garden. Also, my husband reserved this and advised it was my 50th and they did nothing to make it special for me. This was disappointing. They could have easily got the saxophonist to play Happy Birthday to me or given a complimentary drink or dessert. Sear & Co We had 2 good meals here. If you like your meats and steaks you must visit here. I had fish and chips and the fish was sea bass and was lovely. My husband said his burger was good, but his lamb chops were a bit chewy. Although we asked a couple what their steaks were like and they said great. I would definitely stay at BYD Lofts Hotel again as it is off the main road, so it's not noisy but close enough to everything. Wonderful staff, great amenities and very clean and modern hotel. Finally, thank you to the receptionist staff Katie, Orn and Kek who were amazing at making our stay and my birthday a brilliant one.
