“So comfortable”

Of course this review is very subjective and says maybe more about the guests then the hotel itself, but here is my honest review about my 11 nights at the Mitsis Norida hotel, the end of October. The hotel, the rooms The resort and the rooms do not necessarily exude luxury, because the furniture and decor are not necessarily timeless. For us personally this was no problem at all. Everything was well maintained and above all very clean. On the other hand, there were many small steps that I was a bit afraid of tripping over. Luckily this didn't happen. First aid / doctor If you need a patch or medical advice, this is easily available. Animation team My mother and I really enjoyed the stretching and yoga sessions from Ella. She in particular put guests at ease and brought such nice vibes. We really adored her <3 She also gave us good tips to discover the island. Reception / concierge Always easily accessible for questions. Most were so friendly and warm with always a genuine smile on their face. Rides to and from reception and rooms If your hotel room was not in the main building, you could be dropped off and picked up at any time. On the other hand, it was also nice to take a mandatory walk every now and then haha. Restaurants Main The food varied greatly. Personally, I didn't like the bread very much, but the soups were delicious. Raw food such as lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, etc. did not taste good. Very strange, but the lettuce was extremely bitter. Too bad, because I normally really like this. I really enjoyed pizza, pasta and fries (which I normally don't eat). The kiwi jam on pancakes was to die for. A La Carte We made reservations for the fish restaurant and Asian restaurant in the week before departure via the app. The fish restaurant was very good, both dishes and service. The Asian restaurant was unfortunately a lot less, but maybe just a bad evening: the rice was very mushy and several courses came at the same time. So a bit messy. The vibe in all the a la carte restaurants (there are three and its under the same roof) is much calmer, the acoustics so much better and of course the view (looking over the sea) is amazing. I recommend that you definitely make a reservation here. Lunch to take away It was possible to get packed lunches when you went on a day trip. It contained a piece of fruit, a drink, a muesli bar, a cake and a sandwich. Please ask a day in advance. Cleaning There was frequent cleaning and mopping, in the hotel itself but also in the rooms every morning. This was really necessary for us, because unfortunately we had a family of ants in the bathroom that returned every day. Bar and outdoor seating area We mainly visited the pool bar. The cocktails here were often quite sweet, but this could also be just us. When we asked this, they made them less sweet for us. We found the staff generally very friendly. Enadri in particular really made an effort to chat with guests and make them feel comfortable, at the same time he worked hard serving everybody and keeping everything clean and tidy. We appreciated him very much. In general the vibe in this hotel was very pleasant and we lacked nothing. Maybe it's not the fanciest place to stay, but we had such a comfortable time, especially because of the hospitality from the staff. We were a little bit sad that the season was over and are already looking forward to our next stay. Thank you so much :)

“GREAT PLACE”

Great food, great rooms, great sunbeds with umbrellas, great pools, there are many of them. Every evening different shows, great drinks, great service. You can come to relax with your family. Lots of attractions. Ella and Lucas are the best. See you next season, maybe.

“Some 5 Star qualities, but 4 star overall!”

Firstly, let me just say that the hotel is a lovely hotel. However, it is a hotel advertised as 5 star and this is not something I can completely agree with. Don’t get me wrong, it has SOME 5 star qualities, but overall I would have to say it’s a 4 star hotel, and here’s why: Inside of the hotel feels dated, with cream walls and wooden panelling in some areas. The all inclusive food is very basic. I’m aware that many people are not fussy eaters and are happy to eat almost anything, so wouldn’t agree with me however many people are fussy eaters and the food just doesn’t cater to many people. We went for 1 week and the foods was exactly the same for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day. On the other side of the coin, the a la carte restaurants food is excellent and would recommend to anyone to book these, and the fact that you can eat lunch at these restaurants without reservation is a bonus. However do be aware that the lunch food is only at the Smokey Grill and again it is exactly the same everyday. Writing this from the perspective of two 30 year olds, the pool side area is beautiful. With six infinity pools and a mojito bar, it’s perfect. But if you have kids or are elderly then maybe this isn’t the hotel for you as it’s situated on a hill side which means everything steps down towards the sea front. There is a kids club area but as we don’t have kids we don’t really know how good or bad this is. There is a beach bar which is purely for the Norida guests only which you feel is quite exclusive as a Norida guest but when there are areas such as the Gyros bar, which is only for Blue Dome guests, you feel slightly aggrieved and wonder why all Mitsis guests can’t use it. The nightly entertainment is very poor. It seems like there is only one young woman, who was very polite and did her best, who seems to run the “animation” team and I use the word team very loosely as it seem later to only ever be her. You can hear Blue Domes entertainment from your Norida hotel balcony and it sounds a lot more fun. The rooms are perfectly fine and average assuming you don’t spend too much time in them. The creperie sounds great, and to be fair it isn’t all that bad at all, but do bear in mind that you have to sit in the creperie area and wait to be served and the crepes are very basic, but tasty all the same. The beach pizza bar again sounds great, but they are exactly the same pizzas served at lunch and dinner, so there really is nothing special about them. And do bear in mind that the bus from the hotel to Kos town can get very busy and there is no queueing system so you could be waiting the longest but may not get on. All in all, if I was told this is a 4 star hotel at the beginning of my holiday, I would come away absolutely believing it. I certainly would not feel compelled to return.
