From the Prague airport, take an AE express bus to the metro station Zucin. The bus stop is clearly labeled AE and is located a few steps from the terminal building. You can purchase the bus ticket from the bus driver. The bus ride is 60 CZK. When you arrive at Metro station Zucin, walk inside the building and purchase a metro ticket. It is good to have Czech coins on you because the automatic metro machines only accept coins. However, there is a manned ticket counter at this metro. Ride the yellow line to station Florenc. Next transfer to the red line and go one stop to Vltavska. Walk out of the metro station and find the trolley stop. The trolley stop is above ground at the metro station. Take either the trolley number 1 or 25. There is a sign at each trolley stop that lists the trolley number and the time it comes to the stop. Your metro ticket is also good for the trolley. Take the number 1 or 25 trolley for three stops. The trolley should be going up a hill away from the river. If the trolley is going next to the river, you are going the wrong direction. The third stop is Letenske Nam. There is a small grocery store at this stop. Find Ovenecka Street and walk away from the river. The hotel is a 2-3 minute walk from this trolley stop. I walked from the metro station to the hotel. It was about a 2 mile hike. After that, I quickly learned the trolley route. The hotel can provide you a good map with the trolley and metro routes.

I stayed there in July 07. I was living in Germany and went over on the train (db.de very easy to book and I got a good rate.) I was worried about finding the hotel so had contact with a woman who worked there who was very helpful and directed me from the train station to the tram and then how to get to the hotel (although i did get lost! lol) On arrival I think I had the same experience as everyone else. The smell and overall appearance wasnt very appealing. I easily found my room but I darent use the lift! I stayed for 2 nights. On the first morning I did hope there would be someone available to give me advice on the trams but the woman simply wrote down a street name I should get off at, in fact this information was wrong and so I got off and took the next tram in the opposite directions and got off at somewhere I hoped was near the city centre! Breakfast was pretty much what you pay for. Very different to English breakfasts but thats what you are to expect. The room was ok. I was a single person in a twin room so had a bit more room which was nice. It was good having a tv with english channels too. There were flowers outside my window which was nice. The shower was quite an experience! It was very powerful and I thought I was going to be thrown out of the cubical! All in all, for me it was basically somewhere to sleep. I was out early, down the street onto the tram and 10mins to the city (trams very very very cheap!) Although if you travel on your own be careful... I had a couple of guys come up to me but it wouldnt deter me from travelling alone.

Well, what can I say!! Arriving at the hotel was a bit of a shock! It looks like the smallest hotel in Prague! The reception and foyer have a smell of cooking - very greasy! and as the bar is located in the same area a smell of stale cigarettes lingers! The reception staff were ok, but when we asked if there was a better room than the one given we just got grunts and told to check back later when some Dutch guests may have left! We managed to get the tram into the city (buy your day tickets from the tobaconists or kiosks) but also made the mistake of getting the return tram the wrong way and ended up having an hour tour of the outer city! Taxis can be expensive - we paid 300k twice from the same taxi rank to the hotel and then on our last day, same trip only cost 100k! although we had been advised to ask for a price 1st! Back to the hotel.....our room was changed to a larger one but the ammenities were just as dated and scary!! The door IS metal and opens out into the corridor! The rooms are not very well soundproofed and most things can be heard! The shower was a hand held mixer thing that sprayed all over the floor because of no shower curtain! and breakfast....well! those reviews that say breakfast was good.....the coffee had a laxative effect, the orange juice was watered down and the sausages leaved a lot to be desired! But must say the bread rolls were nice! The dining room was a definate throw back to the seventies! Would definately visit Prague again but would stay in an hotel in the centre...plenty to choose from and not much more expensive than this one.
