My experience in French spa towns is that the reasonably priced hotels can be quirky, old and geared to people who spend several days, rather than a overnight. That said, the Majestic was good value because of its extemely reasonable price. It has been renovated to some degree with some unfortunate colore selections of chartreuse and brown and bright turquoise with garish floral fabrics. It is as if they thought inexpensive decor with Ikea-style furniture could be made more elegant if the colors were bright enough.But if you can overlook that, the room was very clean, including the carpets in the room and hallways, and the room was quite spacious. The bathroom was also roomy with ample toiletry amenities and a towel warmer. Because this hotel is old, a negative was that there was only one electrical outlet in the entire room including the bathroom, making it harder to charge devices. There were no hooks in the bathroom either. However, the bed was really comfortable and we had extra pillows, a wardrobe with lots of hangers and a balcony. The hotel breakfast is pricey at about 11 EU for a buffet but you can get an express breakfast in the bar at a much more reasonable price that features coffee, huge croissant and orange juice for 6 Eu. There is parking and the location is fairly convenient to the main drag through Luchon.

It's probably a bit unfair to comment on the Majestic 'makeover' , regarded by some as a bit basic . The hotel has re-opened after considerable flood damage and the furnishing and decor is modern , bright and cheerful . We stayed in the adjacent apartments , which are managed by the hotel and found the staff to be friendly and helpful especially in getting my husband's emails accessed ! We also ate once in the restaurant : pleasant service and reasonably priced food .

“Spacious rooms Attentive staff”

Requested a quiet room in the hotel and that's what we got. There was a large party in the main salon but we did not hear it. Rated 3 star we had large room with large bathroom and very clean. Requested a quiet room in the hotel and that's what we got. There was a large party in the main salon but we did not hear it. Rated 3 star we had large room with large bathroom and very clean. “Good value for money”

We stayed for two nights. Everything was rather basic, but then again we did not pay a very high prize. So we enjoyed what we got. The room is spacious and has a friedndly decoration in fresh colours, the beds are good and because of the balcony we had enough fresh air.
