“Fabulous stay”

This was our 2nd visit to the SALA and it certainly didn't disappoint. The arrival and check-in was beyond what we expected, very welcoming. We really appreciated the food and coconuts. We stayed in the Villa 1 which was huge! gorgeous rooms, perfect for families. The private pool was large for a villa pool, it is however in the shade for most of the day (great as an escape from the hot sun but if you want to lie in the sun in the villa then i would not book villa 1). The location of villa 1 is great, being able to step out straight to the shared pools. The 3 bathrooms were beautifully appointed, my advice would be to bring your own hair shampoo and conditioner though (the ones provided did not clean my hair at all). My only gripe with the villa 1 is clothes storage - the wardrobe and drawers are in the outside bathroom, when it is humid all of the clothes get very damp, we ended up laying them out on the sofa in the room which is not ideal so i would recommend that management really consider some clothes storage for inside the rooms. The staff are friendly, accommodating and truly try to help out. The breakfast is fantastic, varied and a good quality. Only slight disappointment and something the management really need to improve on was the the service at the beach bar. Although the bar tender was very friendly she clearly did not know the menu and did not know how to to make the drinks on the menu, we had some fairly expensive but substandard cocktails at the beach bar, which is a shame as the setting is lovely. Although the food at the hotel is lovely i would recommend walking out to the local restaurants along the beach, we had some lovely meals for a reasonable price. I would definitely return!

“Relaxing and quiet haven”

I stayed at a Sala Pool Villa for 4 nights. The property is gorgeous and well maintained. The villa was beautiful, comfortable and clean. Tongming, my villa host was wonderful. He showed me around the property and gave me a Tour of the farm and let me feed the goats. He made arrangements for the airport transfers and overall took great care of me. Win, the housekeeper for my villa was very thorough and friendly. She placed extra mosquito repellent devices. The sunsets from their beach are stunning and there’s no better way to enjoy them that from one of their comfy bar loungers while enjoying a young coconut.

“Understated luxury , stunning beach”

I have been to this hotel twice before and to other Sala hotels about 10 times. I love the Sala brand. They manage to balance understated luxury with warm Thai touches. Let me start by saying that I hope to be back again , after visiting last year too. The villa was very comfortable, beds amazing, the little touches like the beautiful oil burner in the room made my heart sing. Breakfast was a la carte and buffet and was of the highest quality. I was glad to see new additions to the menu like Burratta salad . There were 2 kids activities per day which was nice touch as this is not a kids hotel. The beach in January is an absolute joy to swim in and it is clean and peaceful. What disappointed was two things that I really hope they improve on. When ordering food to restaurant or room, some meals either came at the end or never came at all. This was stressful when dining with kids or just wanting to go elsewhere. When watching the outdoor movie no effort was made to make it comfortable, ie bring bean bags over . The whole area had so much potential and was under utilised. The other thing was that entertainment and vibe were seriously lacking. The live music wasn't the best and when a DJ was playing this was away from the pools. Fireshows, themed dinners, live entertainment would give back this place its vibe. I couldn't help but compare to Sala chaweng that has a much more fun vibe. If this was improved I'd be back in a heart beat. Overall I'm grateful for my stay and would recommend.

“We really disliked our stay and regretted booking here”

We had a very difficult stay at SALA Phuket. Perhaps we were there at an ‘off time’. The price sets expectations of 5* the reality was not even 3*, for us. Got off to a bad start when the hotel driver arrived very late and very flustered to collect us. By the time we got to the hotel at 22:30 after 26 hours of travel, no food or drinks could be made available. We definitely didn’t get the warm welcome described by others- no selection of scents etc. The next day we moved to a pool villa and I was really shocked by how run down and disheveled it was. I’ve attached some pics of the tiles. Views are of the high walls only. Trip hazards everywhere because the paths need to be relayed. Service and food was inconsistent in the restaurant. First morning i waited 40mins for coffee. Drinks orders were forgotten most sittings. There’s a waitress called Bee who was good. Dahl at breakfast ranged from solid, one day, to lumpy water the next. The pool area is nice. The spa is good. Such a shame you can’t see the beach anywhere from the resort. If there was any visible or present management in the resort I would have loved to discuss. We absolutely will not return to a SALA property again.
