Had a spontaneous Snowy Burns Night at the hotel with some friends from trade on Saturday evening. Team was incredibly hospitable by curating a 3 course menu (Braised Boar & Haggis Pie was the standout) accompanied by some delicious drams (Craigelleichie 13yr was a standout). Keira and her team were exemplary along with a curated flight board tasting with Oscar in the Quaich bar to end the night off perfectly (Top dram was the Signatory Vintage Glenlivet 17yr). Warm , accommodating and friendly team that made our Burns Night a memorable one. Same time next year ! Slàinte 🥃🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

“Cosy comfortable stay with great staff in a beautiful part of the country.”

Arrived when outside had 6 inches of snow. It was lovely to relax by the roaring fire in the bar. All the staff very friendly and helpful and you never felt rushed by them. We ate there both nights and had great food - the pardon peppers and fruit crumble were particularly good. Bed very comfortab… more

Arrived when outside had 6 inches of snow. It was lovely to relax by the roaring fire in the bar. All the staff very friendly and helpful and you never felt rushed by them. We ate there both nights and had great food - the pardon peppers and fruit crumble were particularly good. Bed very comfortable and room good size. Shower was great and bath products very nice. Cute dachshund behind the bar! relaxing stay. Close to lots of distilleries if you love a whisky.

“Great hotel, not such good guests.”

I recently stayed at the Craigellachie Hotel and overall had a wonderful experience. The room was lovely, spacious, and comfortable, making it a relaxing stay. The food was fantastic, with a great selection and high-quality dishes that exceeded expectations. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel welcomed and well-cared for throughout our visit. However, our experience was somewhat overshadowed by a large group from Essex staying at the hotel at the same time. Unfortunately, their behavior was disruptive – they were loud and overpowering, and they were notably rude to the staff. It was disappointing to see such behavior, as the staff were always polite and professional, and they certainly didn’t deserve to be treated that way. Despite this, the overall atmosphere of the hotel was still pleasant, and I would certainly consider returning in the future. Hopefully, this type of disruptive group behavior will be less of an issue next time.

“Disappointing modernisation of a high end hotel to a mundane gastro pub!”

It’s such a shame that a high class hotel has sunk to everyday humdrum average hotel status. The modernisation of this hotel does it no favours. The wonderful Quaich Bar which held over a thousand whiskies was closed and moved to what was the sitting room with a lot less whisky’s in a modern bar. … more

It’s such a shame that a high class hotel has sunk to everyday humdrum average hotel status. The modernisation of this hotel does it no favours. The wonderful Quaich Bar which held over a thousand whiskies was closed and moved to what was the sitting room with a lot less whisky’s in a modern bar. They don’t even have a list of all the whisky’s anymore. The sitting room was a beautiful area filled with antique furniture as was usual throughout the Hotel. The well stocked library is now gone and is a sitting room of no interest. The restaurant in now the breakfast room and pretty strange. The downstairs bar is now a bar type restaurant with a small limited menu of overpriced food from a small menu. The food is mundane and of Wetherspoons quality but with high prices. No value for money. The majority of the staff are English and know nothing of the culture of the establishment. I pointed out to the English 22 year old bar person that there is at least one book of the Craigellachie hotel that was kept in the now non existent library. I suggested he should read it and he would be able to understand the history of the hotel.
