Service is what sets this hotel apart. From the check-in experience to the lounge and bellmen. it is evident that all personnel have been well trained. Cemalcan at reception was extremely helpful, even lending me his shoe shine kit for an event I had that evening. My status as diamond ambassador was recognized; however, I did not get an upgrade to a suite as other diamonds have mentioned, although the premium king room had nice views and was spacious. The hotel is due for a renovation as it does not have the latest electronic ports (USB-c, etc) and the bathrooms are somewhat smaller than other high end Istanbul hotels. Some of the areas in which the hotel can improve are 1) placing signs in hallways to be considerate to other guests as people on my floor were extremely noisy at late hours, often waking me up in the middle of the night 2) place outlets on the night tables for electronic items 3) the prices at the restaurants are astronomically high with Adana Kebab at TL1,700, so you’re paying for the view and not the food which would cost 1/3 the price elsewhere. All the above mentioned, I would still recommend this hotel for its location and service. In fact, I have another reservation coming up and look forward to it.

Conclusion: I stayed at Intercontinental Istanbul for 3 nights. My stay was perfect - the service was great, the room was big and clean, the club lounges was good and it was great to relax at the pool. You will not find a hotel with a better location in Istanbul. I will be back. Review: I took a taxi from the airport to the hotel - it took 45 min and he cost was TRY 1.300. Be careful, the taxidrivers in Istanbul always try to rip you off. This time the driver “offered” to take the highway for a fee. The hotel has a perfect location next to the Taksim square. A lot of restaurants in the neighborhood and shopping is 10 min away. The metro station is just outside the hotel. The check in was very efficient and service was great. I have booked a junior suite. The suite was huge with two bathrooms. Everyday the staff placed a lot after bottled of water in my room. The room has an amazing view at the Taksis square. The room was clean and the wifi was really fast. I used the pool every day - it was the perfect place to relax and the poolbar offered an amazing service. The pool area is really clean and there is a lot of space between the sun chairs. I had access to the club lounges. The breakfast was served in the main restaurant, where they served great food and the service was really good. In the club lounge I had before dinner drinks, where they also serve some local food. The wine was local too, but it was good. You can also get some long drinks. The staff in the front desk of the lounges was really kind and helpfull. The hotel has an amazing rooftop bar. The bar has an amazing view at the city. Go there. You can also get dinner at the rooftop.

On departure I was told that one tiny tin of pistacchio nuts from mini bar cost 1500 lira which I find ridiculous.Iam still waiting for my deposit back , it was taken from my card on arrival.Coffee in the lobby bar ( equivalent of 7 GBP) was undrinkable.The rest ok, spacious rooms, great views and … more
