“Amazing stay, and very relaxing.”

Loved the stay at the hotel with the added bonus of having a spa and gym which we could use, free of charge, with towels included. Very comfortable beds and decent sized room for the two of us. The breakfast was great, with it being self serve on weekends, which included a full breakfast as well as yoghurts and cereals. Some food could be made to order. The hotel is in a perfect location for walks and the scenery, but not for and pubs or other places to eat. We did have to drive, which we knew about before we went. The lounge bar was very relaxing in the evening with plenty of seating and the staff were very friendly and helpful when it came to asking questions. The windows in the room let in a slight draft and could hear the traffic in the morning, but wasn’t the end of the world. We were disappointed with the menu choice in the hotel, despite there being two places to eat. Overall, we really enjoyed the stay and would definitely stay here again, in the near future. It was very relaxing! The drive to go out didn’t bother us as Windermere was only around a 15 minute drive.

“Family autumn break”

This is probably the 10th time of visiting. The staff were very friendly. The room very comfortable with a nice bed, lovely towels in the bathroom. Breakfast good and plenty of choice. We had dinner in the restaurant one evening and was good without being spectacular A very pleasant visit

“Could do better”

The pool/spa facilties are a bit tired and it could do with a proper clean. The last few times we've been the same black mould around the soap dispensers in the showers/changing rooms. Jacuzzi water could be fresher. Also as the pool is not attended there is no-one to speak to loud shouting familie… more

The pool/spa facilties are a bit tired and it could do with a proper clean. The last few times we've been the same black mould around the soap dispensers in the showers/changing rooms. Jacuzzi water could be fresher. Also as the pool is not attended there is no-one to speak to loud shouting families that play catch across the pool to ruin it from swimmers - and to stop underage children getting in the jacuzzi. Also a man filled the sauna bucket with pool water - I mean - who wants to inhale chlorinated water?! The view of the river could be good too - but the windows need cleaning.

We live locally so during the off season months we like to try the hotels in the lakes. This was a 1st time visit for both of us, plenty of parking available and check in was quick and painless. Got instructions to get to the room bizarrely to use the lift you had to go down a set of stairs, not great when you've a bad knee. The room was like a step back in time, perfectly clean, huge TV and was warm was just not modern. The bathroom had a separate bath and shower and piping hot water. We wanted a drink before our tea so headed downstairs the lounge was open but not the dolly blue bar, so sat in very comfortable seats and a couple of others guests also had the same idea. I had a white wine but my partner struggled to find a drink he wanted as the Guinness wasn't available, he had a lager but wasn't keen on it. Eventually the dolly blue bar opened so we went downstairs the girl behind the bar seemed to be having a bad night, apparently the cocktails advertised were on hold and the card reader wasn't working. I was not impressed with the seating area and it was cold so we headed back up to the lounge. We had food in the dining area which was good. We found the beds comfortable. Minimal noise from the road, car park and corridor, nothing which particularly disturbed us other than the very annoying light which seemed to flash regularly I assumed it was a smoke detector. Breakfast was ok, we went down at 08.15 they were still getting the hot food out, I checked that we weren't early but was told they were just running late. The hash browns were practically incinerated but the rest of the food was good I asked for vegan sausage and poached eggs, the eggs were perfect. Overall a mixed review, nothing that would keep us away but nothing that would make us rush back either.
